A def. worthwhile read, largely due to several arresting revelations from Neal. Among them, he is losing money with Soul Sirkus, the band sounded bad at Firefest and that Steve Augeri had no voice for all of last year's Main Event tour.

Say what you will, but ya gotta appreciate this man's unbridled candor!

Read on....

The interview can be found here http://www.metalliville.com/

Very good read. Thanks for posting it, TNC. Neal is very forthright about a lot of things, even the Hardline situation and his divorce. That must have been a tough thing to go through!

The music business chews up and spits out so many people, but Neal just keeps on rockin'.

The Main Event tour w/Styx and REO was 2003, NOT last year.

Noble Cause just likes to run down Augeri, JJ. Last year or the year before. It's all the same to him. He just likes to bring attention to anything negative concerning Augeri, imo.

Look over my track record of posts and you will clearly see that I am on record saying that Augeri sounded amazing at the concerts I attended in 2002. I am also on record saying that the boots from this past year he sounded better than ever. I am also on record saying he sounded like ass on the CBS show and on a Japan boot from 1998.

I'm not running anyone down, I am just calling them like I see 'em.
It's called posting objectively without a pre-existing bias, ever heard of it?

If something sounds good, I will say that.
If something sounds bad, I will say that, too.

Not so sure why this concept is so hard to grasp for you.

"If something sounds good, I will say it"

"If something sounds bad, I will say that, too"
............I'm doing likewise but I'm not undermineing anyone's confidence.

I'm simply saying that it was bad of you to constantly bring to attention, negative comments, if only your opinion, concerning a person you profess to be a loyal fan of. It's certainly of no use to him and only brings to attention any failings YOU may have about the man.

Oh, so when you say that the band should name their latest album "End in Sight" u feel they should take that in stride and in fact, view it as a glowing compliment?

Or, for example, when you said Steve Augeri can't cover Open Arms and is an immitator, I guess u think that is really a confidence booster for him?

Ur argument is funadamentally flawed. The sole reason you are here is to bash Journey w/ Steve Augeri and u do precisely just that frequently if not all the time.

Oh, so u suggest that I censor myself in the slim, miniscule chance that Steve Augeri is lurking here reading my posts?
Do you really think the opinions of a handful of shmucks on the web has all that much influence? Grow up.

The bottom line is this-
If the band has an off-performance, I want to talk about it.
If the band has a phenomenal performance, I want to talk about it.
I am here to talk about the band, not be a blind cheerleader.
Save that Pollyanna shit for BackTalk or Perryville.

It takes a big man to admit the things Neal admitted. Thanks for the good read, NC!

Interesting stuff about "i on u"...a great new CD!
