While I'm none of the above... all indications I've seen say that yes, the CD will be available at Irvine.

I think this should go to Andrew, since he has had some type of exposure to the CD itself. I still have my doubts, since it seems some things have only recently been finalized. They only recently decided on the artwork...what about the rest of the packaging. Has it been mastered and the CD's burned yet?

How close is it to having a few hundred thousand copies ready for the tour?

I received a response from Deen's sister that led me to believe everything is going just fine. I made mention of this, and was told not to worry. I am still waiting to see, but it sounds good to me.

Yes, Deen is doing great!
He took a little time to relax, he spent time with the family, he is the proud father of a baby boy named Roman.

CD has just been mastered and is inbound to Europe for Frontiers to do their thing - promos, promotion, packaging and pressing.

Not sure what timetable the USA is on, but I imagine it won't be far outside the August 29 date set for Europe.

Artwork is complete, so everyone is on the last leg to get this released.

And yes...last I spoke to management and Neal, CD is being given away at USA shows this year...but from what date I am not yet sure.

I still question the way they are marketing the CD. I am sure the music will be available on the internet well before the on sale date, since people will be getting them at the shows. Won't this hurt sales? Andrew, I would love your take on this.

and if my wife and I both have tickets for the show? Do we get 2 cd's? Are people going to be throwing the CD's in the trash if they get two copies and they only wanted one? I might have to go dumpster diving for ebay selling.

Yes, you will get 2 copies of "Generations". I would hope that no one would throw away a CD. Yes, I am sure eBay and the internet will end up with the music. I would like to think that the official US version might be a little different than the copy they 'give away' at the shows, but I do not know this.

I have been suggesting that people who get multiple copies of "Generations" give their extra copy to A) radio stations (with a specified single preferable) or B) to a casual fan who does not know much about Journey, or is still wary of a Perry-less (perilous! ;)) Journey. The last option, of course, is to give copies to fans that cannot make it to a show this tour...like overseas fans! But I put this last simply because I know those fans will be willing to buy the CD from Journey's site, which I still believe will be selling the CD.

My issue

Postby Eric » Tue Jun 07, 2005 4:42 am

I'd really like to be able to listen to it before I attend a show...I'm not great at picking up on a song when I hear it live first...

Sorry I do not appreciate the concept.....

can't tell you where my CD is from the Prince concert last year, did not make a difference in my listening enjoyment. Loved the show however!! Would have never bought the CD and handing it over to me as part of the ticket price made NO difference!

Well according to you and your cabal of Perry co-conspirators I am Fred.
No, wait, Yak is Fred.
No, sorry, it is me.
Wait a minute, no, it's Yak.
No....

For months now you have made it your mission to accuse me and Yak of being someone named "Fred" every chance you get.
Now you are admitting to not even know who this "Fred" character even is.

Before you can deny it, let me show you a quote of yours wherein you called me Fred.
This reply of yours was directed towards me in my thread about Journey performing on the CBS morning show...

Weren't you the one who just the other week was shedding crocodile tears and singing the blues saying this place was "guarded by a pack of thugs" who were limiting your ability to freely participate?
Yeah, you were.
In fact, nearly every week you make some desperate jeremiad claiming "oh woe is me" and how you are always being so unfairly persecuted on these forums.
Yet here you are yet again, leading the pack with your name calling and baseless impugnations of character.
What-a-suprise.

Oh, and don't bother responding, as usual you will skirt the issue and say something vapid like...

I am totally confused.... I thought there was a guy named "Fred." If we would all use our names either in our title or simply sign it after our posts, perhaps we wouldn't have this bullshit.

Seriously, I thought "Fred" was "NC" or JRNY28.. see, I am already dumbfounded.

Fred has not been on this site OR BT for a LONG time now. He was a regular over at the VH1 Boards and 'did battle' with the Perry-only fans all the time. He was very articulate, very factual, provided research about what he spoke of....much like NC. Fred even went ballistic once in a while. But, no offense to NC, he never got as personal as NC does when NC gets frustrated. In fact, I am sure most of the VH1 Board members will remember when Fred "found his peace" and gave up on all the emotional responses. Once he let go of the emotion surrounding the constant debates over the same tired issues, he became a wealth of information. Much like NC is when he is not frustrated.

I imagine that is why some people think NC is Fred...but he is not.

Others might also remember that Fred was a strong proponent for using your real name when posting. His theory was posting without anonimity leads to more honest posts. Fred did not hide behind a screenname. He signed all his posts 'Fred' and he changed his screenname to Fred_journeyman.

Fred taught me a lot back then, he taught me to let go of the emotion when posting (which I do MOST of the time ;)). I have corresponded with him in the past. I would like to say that I 'know' Fred. NC is not Fred and I do not believe anyone else on this board is either.

HUH?? I thought "I" was Fred!

Dave, where is Fred these days?

If you see your friend Fred, send him over....the Perry girlies need someone to look over them.

Perryfaithful, do you have some kind of fetish toward Fred, since you keep bringing him up?

Andrew, since I was the author of this thread, which of course went to Hell, could you just delete it? I made the "Fred" mistake, and now I know who is who..However, others had to jump on it. Delete delete delete..
