What of the cd at the concert?

This weekend, I'll be going to buy my concert tickets for the Journey show, in Biloxi MS. Will I be getting the new cd when I buy my tickets? It is not advertised on the web site, and I know someone who works at the venue, and they know nothing of it either! Hopefully they will not be handing them out the night of the show. That is bad because 1) I will not know any of the new songs, 2) I'll have to wait untill Sep. to hear the new songs. THAT OS JUST TOOOOOOOOOOO LONG. Anyone have any ideas? ERIC

The CDs ARE being handed out AT the concert. There will be tables at the entrances of the venues that will be handing out CDs and some other items. All ticketholders will be able to pick up their CD when they walk in.

YES, it sucks that you won't be able to listen tothe CD BEFORE the show!
Although Journeyswag MIGHT have "Generations" for sale too...

We've been asking the same question for weeks on BT. I hope you get further than we have, Andrew. The best answer I got was that they WILL sell "Generations" in Journeyswag but no hint of 'when'.

Obviously, management is going to sell the damn thing ASAP..Why have it sitting on a shelf in the back of Journey warehouse? When it's done, it will go on sale. If it doesn't, then Mgt. is not too bright.

Ok, a little info...

I believe a full retail version wil be available at Swag at the same time the Euro release (with bonus track) is officially out Aug 29.

But I have heard a strippe dback version will be given away at the concerts (ie. less packaging/smaller booklet), but can't lock in the start date for that happening.

Hope to hear the album (again) VERY soon :)

I wondered if that would be a possibility.
I have also wondered if there might be a track or two left of the CD. But signs point to "no" on that one. But it would make sense to me. It would avoid full leaks of the CD. It would also avoid eBay issues, you would KNOW it was a free CD being sold for profit.

Errrrrrrrr folks can sell anything but bootlegs on eBay. Bootlegs get shut down legally. The cd from the concert no matter how stripped down, will garner many bids at the intial eBay offerings and then will taper off as folks start making copies to give to family and friends or even worse P2P sharing. Seems strange that swag can't sell it at the same time it hits the concert circuit. :?:

Few years back I bought a boot of Journey on ebay, made a copy , and TRIED to turn around and sell the orginal. No go, ebay shut it down. Even got a email from ebay, and someone claiming to be in Journey's mgmt. They said, and this not a qoute, they know that there are bootleg copies of their concerts out there, and that people trade them, but they are not going to let people sell them.-ERIC

So if we want to buy the European version with the extra track, we can do so online somewhere, I assume? Anyone have any recommendations for good sites?

News online now...

And ALL stores links from the frontpage will have copies of the euro release and many will take pre-orders for the August release.

ALLOFMP3 It's a Russian site, used it the first time the other day-ERIC

NO Russian site is a legitimate income source for artists - all bootleg.
Use at own peril!

I want to buy the actual European CD, now just download the songs. I guess NEH Records site is my best bet?

Yeah, no shit. Ever try to buy a Big Mac in Moscow? "uh, that will be 9.95 sir."

They are in such peril economic times, they will sell their sisters for cash, especially western cash..

On the front page you said "IF", talking about an American release. Do they not have a label, or not intend to do a general release to the public-ERIC

NEH are highly recommended forgetting the Euro releasefrom aUS supplier.

And yes, no US record label at the moment, so a release may only come from online website sales, or maybe they'll still sign a deal.

Andrew, Wasn't Steve Vai's label going to sign Journey? And if not, can Frontiers sign them for business over here in the USA??
