Some general Journey questions...

I just have a few questions....;)

1. The "All is fair in love and war, but war is hell," words that are spoken on "Castles Burning." Who is that? I read somewhere that it was Smitty. Is that true?

2. Anyone who has been to a Generations Tour concert already: When the band comes on, is there a long musical intro, like there was on the Frontiers Tour (Elmo's Theme) or the Red-13 intro they've used in recent shows?

3. Regarding Red-13. Was this cut with the band playing together and Stevie A. singing along with the music? Pardon me ignorance to this point but I know absolutely squat as to how a song is produced in the studio... :?

I'm sure I'll have some more questions that pop up here and there!
Thanks in advance!

I heard #1 was Perry with some voice modulator or something.

I do not know how Journey takes the stage, but it has been reported that People ANd Places is used as an intro. I will let you know August 3rd...

I do not know the other...

It's something you can use to make your vocals sound different, add effects and such. Perry also vocalizes the faux newscast on the song the "...raging fire...lavish home in the prestigious Hollywood Hills...arson is supspected..." part.

Ah, gotcha. I would LOVE to hear Castles Burning in concert, but I doubt it'll happen. :?

The show starts with the guys walking on stage then singing the opening of "People & Places". The second set has the guys walking on stage to what I term the "DVD intro" -- it's not Red 13 that I recall, but sounds similiar to the 2001 DVD opening.

Ditto! ;) May favorite part of the Journey shows is when the lights go out and the music starts up before they take the stage... :D
