If Steve Perry Came Back and did 1 solo show aucustic only small band
for 1 hour what would your setlist be you can pick 12 songs

Lets see what the crowd has to say.

I like this.
You Better Wait, Can't Tame The Lion , Foolish Heart, She's Mine, Tues. Heartache, Oh SHerry, Strung Out, Somewhere There's Hope, Stone In Love, Positive Touch, It Could Have Been You, Liberty. Just don't hold me to the acoustic thing except where the song calls for it like Liberty. Give me lincoln Brewster, plugged in.

Well, I can't resist..He IS NOT coming back, but if he did, I bet he would sing these..

I'll Be Alright Without You, Faithfully, Somewhere There's Hope(agonizingly long and boring), Missing You, LTS, Lights, DSB, Send Her My Love, Girl Can't Help It, and O Sherrie.

All of course tuned down, and slowed up...

I am convinced after hearing the three songs on the Bill Graham tribute, he clearly cannot do it anymore....It's tough, and it's sad, but He just can't sing at the top anylonger...

He obviously won't do any rock songs....so I picked the ballads..

As long as he played Don't Be Down on Me Baby, I'd be happy...

Dude, you make fun, NIG but I like that one for what it is, a good JRNY ballad. True i hate it, but is what it is. Hey, how about this all: If you could drop Faithfully, Open Arms or Send Her My Love in the setlist for the rareity that Don't Be Down On Me, Baby would be, would you do it? I would.
Then all the yuppies would be    "What's that? Play something we know!"

Imagine an acoustic version with Perry and Schon doing Little Girl. I don't think Perry's pipes could handle it nowadays...

It doesn't matter, as long as they are all instrumentals.

I think u are thinking of when Perry was on the radio with Uncle Bob promoting the GH dvd.
Did he say "echo", I thought he said he might need some "reverb".
Could be wrong.

NealIsGod invoked Little Girl agian, what a tune. I'd love to see what Perry could do with it now. Just put that acoustic away, though, I DO NOT like it unless the song calls for it and Neal's plugged in and LOUD on it the studio version. Perry may have to do a Bill Grahm tribute maneuver and kick it down an octave, like you said but still...

That's not what the BG thing was about, Red. He was for the most part on his own. Oh well, forget I mentioned it!

How, HOTS, was he own his own when Journey members joined him on stage? And what was the BG tribute "about" that I'm missing? Don't run away from it. They had to play the songs differently to accomodate steve. That does not mean they did not sound good.

Ehh, a guy can dream. I don't really think there's anything in there he can't do at this point. Maybe Winds of March.

Fortunately for us, ur feelings are not facts.

Dennis won't be back in Styx (per Carrot Styx) and Steve P. won't be back in Journey (per Steve P). The only way that they would be with their former band mates on the same stage, is if they were inducted in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Will that happen? I wish. It would be nice if they inducted the "classic" rock or "arena" rock bands. Sheesh, they won't even let Van Halen in, a lot of those "hair" bands probably wouldn't be here if it wasn't for VH. Just my opinion. 8)

Easy to Fall
It's Just the Rain
TBF
FTLOSM
Missing You
I Am
Faithfully
Still They Ride
Somewhere There's Hope
One More Time
Donna Please
Running Alone

Encore: Melody, Happy To Give

I really think ballads and bluesy songs sound better done acoustically than rock numbers.

Suite,

I don't mean to slide to the right of this topic....but.....

You brought up an interesting subject. Do you think if Journey were inducted into the Hall of Fame that Steve Perry would actually sing with the band? Can't help but wonder, especially after the Walk of Fame situation that occured.

I apologize for sliding away from the subject a little. Perhaps I should have started another thread.
