"Usually (though not always), classic-rock acts travel the country in the summer in twos and threes. Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire, for example, have been touring together for several years. But Journey's out alone this summer. The group had contacted Santana, Steve Miller, Def Leppard and others about going out together, but all the possibilities fell through."

The guys talked about going out with DL once before -- prior to the Main Event Tour. They were talking about either DL or REO at the time and were leaning to REO because of management issues. Apparently DL's management was difficult to work with and REO has the same manager as Journey, so REO was the more likely candidate at the time. (Thus the Main Event tour) Just saw on the front page that DL is changing management to an Azoff-owned group. Could be interesting in the future.

Santana coulda been cool tho... that would have really covered the "Generations" theme! LOL!
