Sanctuary Dist. Deal W/ All Tracks: A GOOD Thing

I could not disagree w/ Andrew more about this deal being in "poor form." Poor form is artists continually shotchanging the US buyer by incessantly releasing the albums in Japan or somewhere else overseas EARLIER and with more songs than US versions. I don't CARE about all the rationales about the necessary evils of doing this to placate Japanese record companies or that mumbo jumbo. It's not fair to US buyers. I'm not saying WE should get the bonus tracks either, it should be THE SAME tracklisting worldwide. The only ones I have sympathy for in this case are the ones who already forked out the ridiculous bogus import ripoff prices just to get the 2 other tracks. I waited for details on the US release in the hopes that like Arrival, this would happen (except fucking Japan STILL got I'm Not That Way and the US didn't) and am now basking in the poetic justice of this information. Hopefully the overseas markets now will take notice of this kind of thing and stop demanding preferential treatment. end of pontification, and thanks John kalodner and Journey.

But that is EXACTLY why Andrew (and others) feel it is poor form.
Doesn't bother ME at all. Although I would have liked to get the enhanced CD content...but in the end, it's about the MUSIC!!

And I said I sympathize with that lot, J28. I was one of them during the Arrival bullshit. 35 bucks for that damn Japanese release and after I picked up my improved US version on April 3, 2001 I told myself next time I'd wait in the hopes that the US version would be at LEAST the same. And I feel it's a minority of the people who got duped into it this time and I'll live with that if it means JRNY might think twice now about kissing the asses of the Jap. labels at our expense.
Deep down I'd like to believe that Kalodner told JRNY something like, "Gens. is a great record and I want it to be on my label. But ONLY if you guys give the US buyer EVERYTHING you gave Japan."

I get your point 13..welcome back pussy...

I am tired of the US getting cheated all the time..Isn't Journey's base here in the states? Screw japan, and screw other countries. The US should get the first releases, and the tracks should always be the same.

That is why I have no ill feelings of burning the cd's and lifting them off the web..I still buy the finished product because I support the band..But no way am I waiting to hear INTL, when the WWII losers get it first...

By the way, speaking of WWII, nice effort, Japan. Scoreboard never lies.

I agree with Andrew, it does seem to be in rather bad form.
By doing what they are doing, the foreign distrubutors now stand to lose some money.
I wonder if they can get Journey on charges of breach of contract?

Business ethics aside, now speaking strictly as a Journey fan, I am glad to have even more tracks in my possession

Well, how ethical is it for them to kowtow to Japanese record distriutors and saddle US with an inferior product just because Japan thinks IT can make more money with TWO (that's 2) bonus tracks?!?!?!
Sorry, feel no sympathy whatsoever for the other sides in this one. Listen Cougar. You know where I was so that doesn't make me a pussy. Good to be back and see ALL you guys populating the place..
