Did you see Journey at Gilford, NH or in CT? How about a review? How were your seats?

I saw The Rolling Stones for both their Boston shows. I had stage seats for Opening Night. On their website, I'm in their live video of Shattered.

I went to the show in CT and I enjoyed it very much.

Steve sounded much better than he had in previous years that I've seen the band. I noticed that I maybe heard him strain once to hit a high note, definately not like he was on the DVD. :shudder:

Deen did not sing, apparently he was under the weather voice wise.

I was a little bummed that they didn't play To Play Some Music on the tour, but it was still a fun three hours.

I'll never understand this. Augeri has never sounded better than his performance on the dvd. Nearly all flaws on the 2001 dvd (from Augeri or any of the guys) were expurgiated in post-production by Kevin Shirley. Augeri sounds extra sweet on the dvd, because Shirley ensured he sounded that way before it was released.

I dunno, TNC. I have a copy on CD, which sounds even clearer somehow, and there are some warts to be found.

If that's true, then list them.
There are some fleeting trouble spots during Escape and Separate Ways, but they are so trivial and so brief they are not even worth mentioning.
I own loads of bootlegs and they sound nowhere near as good as the dvd. The dvd is essentially a studio quality recording of the GH as performed by the new lineup.

The cd is the rip of the 5.1 audio, which I think is the only way to rip the sound.
The only way i'm capable of WATCHING the dvd is in the PCM stereo which is a lesser audio than Shirly's 5.1 surround mix/

IMO, in Escape he had a bit of trouble hitting the higher note (around the "Well, I'm on my way" part before the solo). I also noticed it at the last verse of Faithfully (before the crowd part, "I'm forever yours"). Not that it's his fault either, but I didn't hear any of that at the concert in 2005. I just felt that that his voice seemed MUCH stronger that it did in 2001. I was just trying to point out how much I thought his voice got stronger. It's just an opinion.

I agree, I thought he sounded better live this tour than on the DVD, last tour as well.

How were the Stones? Never cared much for them myself.

The Rolling Stones were outstanding at both Fenway Park, Boston shows! They have so much energy and charisma. The fans loved them. I wish their set list was different though. Their prices are too high.

Although I'm not a big fan, I think its cool the Stones are still out there doing it.
Oh, but they are missing a long time member (who I think WAS a founding member).....so shouldn't they have called it something else or just form a new band or something......

yes, I've known Bill Wyman's name for many years.
Of course since he was 1/5 of the band, I see nothing wrong in the other four continuing without him.

Ace, good job in pointing out the absence of the guitarists that preceeded Ron Wood.
