They haven't played the UK since (I believe) 1979. Both Neal and Ross have mentioned that one of the former members of Journey 'refused' to tour over there.
2006 is shaping up to see Journey in Europe. So far there is ONE date announced. Journey is trying to get on the festival circuit and it is rumored that Soul SirkUS will also play.

that one date is in Holland june 10th.So seeing as England dosent do festivals(and by that i mean large open air festivals with bands playing similar music ie:aor / melodic rock)the chances of our heroes playing here are slim to nil.I cant see them playing at the Godz either,so better make sure your passport is upto date :?

mmmmmmm dunno, Styx started out this year with a few European festival dates, this then developed into a Uk tour....so, IMO summer 2006 will see them do a few dates over here, fingers crossed

IMO Journey prefer to play the big arenas or festivals(6,000+ seaters)So for the uk we are talking Wembley Arena,Gasgow secc etc, which sadley i dont think Journey would fill.It is a long way to come to play to half full arenas or 1 or 2 shows, which is why i think it is important that if Journey do decide to come over they need to get a good support band in tow with them (Survivor would nice).Do you have any idea how well the Styx concerts were attended and who supported them?

The Styx shows did really well, I went to 2 (Brum and Manchester) which were nearly sold out (think Manchester was) Styx also play bigger venues in the States so it was a bit of a come down to play these venues, but hey it worked!!!. I think Journey would benefit a 5 or 6 small venue tour over here if only to reward their many fans over here. BTW Styx didn't bring any elabarate stage show with them, just the basics (kept the costs down) can't see any reason why Journey can't do the same

Here in the States Journey has played everything from 2,000 seat clubs to 20,000 seat amphitheaters, so as long as they've got a decent place to play anything is possible.

It was never about desire, NEal and Journey have mentioned many times that they would like to go overseas. It has been about the promoters. No promoters showed an interest in 'bringing' Journey to the UK. I think the Gods appearance and the SS hype has opened some eyes over there.
I doubt you will see a European TOUR this year though. It appears Journey want to keep it to the Festival circuit and then take some time off...
