Journey Single To Be Added To Radio

If you scroll to the bottom you will see "Rock Going For Adds" and that is where Journey is listed. I am guessing that is an announcement that Journey will be releasing the single for rock radio, but of course, does not mean it will get added to the playlists.
I was looking at the AC charts info and saw there is a HUGE increase in numbers for those songs. Now I see why Journey spent a lot of time trying the AC audience. Maybe by the time they release their ballad (hopefully after a couple of rockers) they will make a dent in AC...
Back in the good ole days, a band released 2 rock songs before releasing a ballad...no matter how well the rock did. Band used to want to establish themselves as a rock band first and foremost and then "surprise" everyone with a ballad. I think it is a format that Journey should return to. Even if airplay eludes Journey, they should not stop trying for it. And if only the ballad "hits", that is not a reason to abandon the rock.
Of course, when you look at the pop charts, the increase is astronomical. And I see no reason why Journey cannot send their rock to pop radio. Many rock bands have hit on pop stations. Nickleback, Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down, Green Day are all bands that fit another genre but hit on pop. Jounrey needs to be "Going For Adds" on the POP stations as well as the ROCK ones. In fact, I think they would have a better shot there. On the rock stations they are stacked up against the likes of Korn and Disturbed and Taproot and Seether...not exactly a big Journey audience.
