TNC is retarded....
That review WAS great!
NC is an embarrassment.

That bothered me also ohsherrie. Things are supposedly going fairly well, so why the need to make "snide" remarks about Perry? Wasn't this the 30th anniversary tour where ALL the years and ALL the members of Journey are honored???

I don't remember Perry's name being mentioned at all at the show I saw. That reviewer seemed to have an agenda of promoting Perry more than Journey. JMHO

What exactly was this guy's point??

That is something that has troubled me for quite some time...the incessant need of the journalists to keep bringing Perry up. It has been 9 years since Perry sang with Journey and they still have to mention him throughout articles. I do not mind a reference to the fact that the 'once great lead singer is no longer with the band'...respectful to Perry and informative to anyone who might not know this. But to keep on abou thim throughout...the reason it is so hard for Journey to get past Perry lies in the journalists as much as anything else.

After all these years it just ain;t going away! A few diehard fans of the current line up can huff and puff til they are green but the name Steve Perry when it comes to Journey doesn't die! Those years were magic!

Yes they were. But this is 2005, and Journey is still playing those tunes live. If Perry had it his way, they wouldn't be.

and the journalists would still be talking about Perry (to stay on question)

That's because Journey's type of music is no longer big, which doesn't give them a chance to make a mark with Augeri. Perry sang the hits. If Augeri was the singer during those years with the same songs, and Perry is the new singer, your boy would be in the same boat. Timing is everything. Not to say Augeri is better, of course. Just that Steve happened to be in the band during it's heyday.

I do not call 12,000 + fans "a few diehard fans."

Yes, but the majority of fans can get over the fact that is finished and move on with their life.
Some sadly can't.
