Steve Augeri's impending solo album isn't a diversion, it's actually an exit strategy.

OK.
Steve Augeri's solo album will never come to fruition.

Proceed.

Not going there...

I am extremely glad that Steve feels the desire to create music, with or without Journey! And I feel fortunate that his desire passed on to Neal to bare "Generations".

Several of the members of Journey have re-iterated that they "will be back". I may think this is POOR timing to take a break but I do not think this is the end yet.

My prediction falls more under the line of observation: Journey will take some time off, start touring the US again in 2007.

However, given the articles going around about how important the classic rock bands are to ticket revenues when touring, I will go out on a limb and suggest that Journey might be enticed to tour next summer by decent offers from promoters.

Ok...

Journey will not release another full album...maybe more EP's, but I doubt it.

Journey will tour next Fall/Winter.

Neal's creative outlets will be Soul Sirkus, solo albums, and other projects outside of Journey.

Augeri will use his time off to complete his solo album and release it late next year.

Journey will stop touring within five years...when Jonathan decides to leave the band.

Steve Perry will get a hair cut and will not release any more Journey DVD's. The Cubs will ask him to record "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", replacing Harry Carry's version for the 7th inning...this will infuriate both Cubs fans, and White Sox fans, making him even less popular. Dennis DeYoung will do it for the White Sox but nobody will even notice.

If that's true Noble, and it may very well be, then the Journey is nearly complete.....
If that IS the case, I say good luck to them!!!! I'm not going to be pissed if they decide to disband the group, they gave us all some great music and I'm guessing some great memories.
Of course they'll be rioting in the streets at BT and I'm guessing more than a few members will be sitting in their garages with the car running.... :P

LOL That's wrong, but funny.

No Journey "predictions" of your own you'd like to impart, Joe?

I think that Augeri will have a successful solo album, called "Short Stories" and Deen will take on lead vocals for Journey. He will eventually take on more control and even manage to now and then turn down Neals amps..........................and history will repeat itself. 8)

I don't think so. They will hang on just as Perry fans hang on for a new Perry album. In the meantime, they will be satisfied with Soul Sirkus and whatever other outside albums come along.

Remember how boring BT gets when there is no new material and no tour to talk about? There are people who I honestly believe will NOT know what to do with themselves if Journey retire. BT would have to change dramatically...

Well, if Journey ends...I would expect BT to not be far behind...The band pays for it, right? Maybe a moderator or two will pick it up, but BT as it exists today may cease to exist. Maybe journeymusic.com will keep going, as long as they can sell 'stuff'.

I believe Journey will continue to tour with the present band intact. I'm not sure if I see them releasing any more new albums either; maybe a live album of the current lineup - I don't even see an EP in the future.

I do see Schon pushing the Soul Sirkus thing more, and I believe he has a good opportunity to be moderately successful in SS. I don't see Steve Augeri leaving the band, UNLESS, his solo stuff becomes huge. At that point, I'm not so sure I see Schon putting alot of heart and soul into Journey - heck it might be his reason to put Journey to rest once and for all.

IF this happens, the ONLY way I see Journey again and putting out new albums is if Steve Perry comes back to the fold. That might not be such a popular answer, but I believe that would be the truth.

They'll all have to move out of their parents' house and get jobs if they want to BUY anything Monker!!! :P :P

I think the band will tour for years to come. They're just hitting stride now, I think, coming off the forced 10-year sabbatacal. They're tight as hell....i feel the glass is half-full.

My feelings, too. They seem to all get along great and have lots of respect for each other. I don't see any reason for negativity. Each recording with Augeri is much better than the last. Nowhere to go but UP.
