NEW Journey predictions

New predictions for the week of "10/24/05".
As previously reported, both Soul Sirkus and Journey will tour Europe next year. However, in an unexpected twist, Jeff Scott Soto will step up to the mic in lieu of Steve Augeri-(who remained stateside to spend time with his family..or so goes the official PR spin).
This will cause Neal to face the wrath of the remaining Journey fans world over that he hasn't pissed off already.
Your turn.

Gotta hand it you..these scenarios are well thought out..kind of Oliver Stone-ish..
I hope both are wrong, but your Augeri departure makes a ton of sense..and if that does play out, you should be hired by the CIA..

LOL....I had nothing to say, so I posted nothing.
No hacker in sight!
I'm sure 2006 will be very interesting for Journey fans. As all years are.

Interesting. Then why bother to post at all? I think I am def. onto something here and your silence is a tacit confirmation of that.

Not so. 2003 was really the doldrums. The Main Event tour offerred shortened sets and a sparsity of rareities. No new music to boot.
Very dull year all around.

Augeri leaves, I'm gonna be enraged. To me it would make no sense.
Andrew please do something to dispell this theory if you can.

Me, too. He's perfect for Journey. If Soto joins, that would SUCK.

He can't hit a note that high anymore, NMT.

Why is it bothering you guys so much that Steve might sing that song? Just for the sake of discussion, not to argue, I just wonder why. If you're happy with the band as it is, and you think they're doing the songs better than Steve does it doesn't seem like it would be such an issue for you.

I can only speak for myself, but it doesn't bother me. I would like it better if the band was being noticed instead of their former singer. But they do benefit from the exposure, of course. But I hope he enoys it, and I hope he sings and sounds good doing it. I just don't think he will sing it in public, neither acapella nor with a band. Sorry. Let's just hope it inspires him to record something.
Well

I hope he nails it, and it gets played over and over everywhere.....but I am a little nervous that he won't sound that good.

Its not bothering me that he might sing it, cause I don't think there's a chance of it. But I hope I'm wrong so we'll hear what he sounds like singing live now.

Ok, I get it. I just thought some of the things you were saying sounded a little harsh, like maybe you weren't too happy with the situation.
Of course I hope he sings. I don't know if I'll ever hear it if he does because I don't know if that parade will be broadcast nationally. How he sounds will be in the ears of the listener I guess. I don't mind his lower, rougher voice, but those who do probably won't think he sounds good. Like Bill Austin used to say, "I'd listen to the guy sing the phone book".
I really doubt it will effect the future of the band one way or the other.

I could not imagine (bad choice of words?) Steve Augeri not fronting Journey any more. Now that would be tragic. He helped bring Journey back at just the point where I believed we would never hear them record anything again.
Journey On!

Well, ya never know. Augeri might feel like being in Journey has given him a chance at possibly landing a successful career as a solo artist. If he had that opportunity, he'd probably be crazy not to take it. Augeri has a great voice and I believe he could be extremely successful as a solo artist. Of course, as long as he's in Journey, we can hold onto faith that there will be new material in Journey's future. If Augeri leaves, then I don't feel so confident in Journey's future.
