Watching and Waiting.
He told a reporter today that he was gonna sing.

There's Steve right up there on stage, about 3 guys back from the podium. I didn't realize how short he was next to all those tall baseball players. When one of the guys are speaking you can keep getting a glimpse of him, just smiling away. :)

Still waiting..................................

While it was great to see him singing again, perhaps he did need better back up. I'll just leave it at that....

Remember it was not that long ago that fans were "walking out" of the current Journey concerts BEFORE the show was even over. And that is with Augeri getting voice lessons" & rehearsing for the concerts, so that's NOT all that great in my opinion.

Perry sounded GREAT & I enjoyed watching him sing with the white Sox players, even though the players were off key a bit, lol. It was fun & Perry seemed to be having a real good time there! Hey, that's all that mattered! :D :D :D

Lies, Lies and more Bullshit lies.

Nobody walked out of a Journey concert, be it 1977, 1982, or 2005. A few freebie dickslaps left during the first phase of the pre-Perry tunes(Where Augeri wasn't even singing anyway you dinbat).

No, Perry did not sound great. No, Perry did not sound good. No, Perry did not sound ok. No, Perry did not sound half as good as Augeri. Yes, Perry sounded FUCKING awful. YOU cannot spin this. Try as you might..You wanted your hero to have his chance. Honey, He sucked the dong today, ok?

No, It wasn't fun to hear that. I was embarrassed watching in front of my friends who I have defended the band to..I understand their thinking now.

Thanks alot there Steve Perry... I know Neal has got to be thinking, yeah, thank God hh? who knew?" lol

what a complete joke.

PS- If Perry was such a true fan of baseball, why did he whore himself off to another team other than his beloved SF Giants?

Perfect post, Deano. You hit the nail on the head. If Perry has stayed in the band, they would not be half as good as they are now. That voice is more worn out than a knothole in a prison fence!

He did have a hard time it seemed, but he deserves more than a little respect....don't burn on him I say. Maybe it was a bad voice day, or he has lost it. Put yourself in his shoes, how would you once like to have one of, if not the greatest R&R voice ever, and lose it? Wouldnt it be hard to not be able to sing some of the best music in front of people again?

Sorry dude. You have me confused with a PerryPodPerson. I don't palliate actions, "spin" facts, or in general, make excuses for performers (Augeri or Perry).
If someone sucks, then they suck.
Perry sucked yesterday.

It'd be tragic. No doubt about it.
But what does that have to do with me giving an honest opinion of his performance? It was still crap.

Perry's locker room & parade performance reminded me of that "Hit me Baby one more time" show where the fat old rockers try and revive their hits...Mike Reno trying to sing Working for the Weekend comes to mind...GAG!!!

Yes, it would be. However, if I KNEW I had lost the best voice in music, I wouldn't throw Bullshit out there about touring and singing again. I would just admit it...

It's like dangling a carrot in front of our faces....Perry said he missed singing and peforming and said this baseball thing has inspired him. Well, don't sing it - bring it! Well, do sing it, but also bring it!

Wow, listening to that was sad. He was obviously singing lower and wasn't able to hit the highs even then.

Now, it's also very possible that his voice was hoarse from all the yelling he may have done at the game, which would also explain why his voice sounded the way it did. If that was the case, then he should have mentioned it to the crowd, as opposed to "I need some help here." I mean, he must have known that the clip would have become fodder for forums like this where everything would be dissected "...over and over and over again. Strangers...waitin' up and down the boulevard..."
