This morning, on 95.5 WPLJ New York....

"Scott & Todd", the morning show, played the (now infamous) "DSB" from the White Sox rally.
They kept their mics on as the song progressed.....they were peppering it with "OH!"s and "oops", and "...here's where it gets a LITTLE rough..."
But the bottom line: all they said about Steve was this:
"Eh, he looked like he was having fun..."
Yes, they WERE a bit taken-back by the performance; wondering out loud WHY he "chose this venue to be his big come-back" (paraphrased; it was said as a joke)
But what I'm trying to say is this:
THESE GUYS COULD'VE RIPPED STEVE A NEW ONE - THEY DO NOT HOLD BACK AT ALL; THEY DON'T CARE - AND THEY DIDN'T!
So why can't we just see it for what it is? A 50-something year old singer who didn't take himself so SERIOUSLY for once?

But....on the flip side:
If it all really IS "going down in flames".....
I'll take a few stellar albums with Steve's unmatched vocal ability over a lifetime's supply of someone else's mediocrity.
