...on radio? I don't expect it to chart at least not HIGH, but to at least get some airplay. Dean heard it in LA if it can get on in the 2d biggest market what's the problem?

Angie's station is playing FITH for some reason. That's better than a sharp stick in the eye!

It was a (n) (affectionate) AKay reference.
NIG, are you serious? They're actually playing FITH on her station?
Nice.

Well whatever it is. I'm all about piling on her, but I gotta hand it to her and the station for getting it on.

No she confirmed it was FITH. I'll try to find it...

Angiekay wrote:Well, I just looked in our computer and Faith in The Heartland is the only new Journey song in there, so that must be the only one we are playing at the moment. The record companies have nothing to do with what we play because we usually don't get our cds from band's actual resprentatives. We have a different source that sends us new music, so we chose what goes on. Obviously we watch the trends, but also what we think will work for our station.

Hey, he started some pissing match, and I smoked his lame argument. He tried to tell me Twigs was the better band. Then he says "popularity doesn't maen anything" then goes on to say Twigs was voted most popular band in 1979! I LOL at his ass. 41 million to 16.5 albums sold. Then all of the Twiggies say "well, we'll take substance over popularity." Weak. If a band is selling 3 times as many units, there is a reason for it. Those Twiglets need to stop being so mypoic.

Well, Journey has sold a LOT of records, but that is not why I like them. I could never get into Styx. I like Tommy Shaw's voice, and a few of their tunes with him singing. DeYoung does nothing for me.

Don't you think it's rather wrong to lump an entire board of people into a category because one person is giving you flack? By all means, go after the source. Just don't let it affect how you feel about a band. By all means, Journey ranks first in your heart (and that's fair) but lumping everyone together isn't.

Then even even after the dust settled he KEPT calling Deano out. He was Rocky getting up off the canvas in the 14th hemorhaging like a stepped-on bloodworm, face looking he just stuck it into a giant hornets nest, half slumped over and giving the wave-in to Apollo (Dean). Of course in this alternate version, Apollo waded in and finished Rocky off right quick. Que The Place In Your Heart.

Bullshit Sadie. You all sit over there and laugh, and say vanilla things. Why don't some of you get a backbone. Look, liking Styx over Journey is FINE. I have NO problem with it. But trying to lie and make up shit to make Twigs out to be "more substance related" and "more popular between 1978-1982 is just bogus. classic, Yogi, Zan..ALL wrong.

Believe me, I've seen it. And I wish people knew when to quit. They don't sadly. I think it was totally wrong to continue in the first place. I just would hate to have someone throw away something they enjoyed over it.

Funny thing...I don't like Tommy's voice because it get's too 'shrill' for me (especially on a lot of the Damn Yankees stuff that I loved so much) but Dennis was my 2nd favorite vocalist for a long time (along with Mickey Thomas). Something in their tenor voices appealed to me much more than Tommy's voice.

I think it's a pretty good sign that something is being played off of the new album - for more than just the week it was released. Although, I do expect Journey to be played more in California than I would anywhere else. Still, at least they are getting some air time.
Still haven't heard it here in good ol' Southern Virginia though!

I've always felt Tommy was less shrill than Dennis or Perry.
How do you like Gowan? Talk about shrill...

I have only heard Gowen on the Main Event Tour and at the time, he sounded like a 'fair' replacement for Dennis. But that was ONE time, ONE show, TWO years ago...
I think "shrill" was the wrong description as we all know Perry could get VERY shrill with those high notes. But Somehow, I feel like Tommy sings higher than Perry did. Maybe he does more of that when he is singing with Jack to harmonize between them. But I just don't care for it so much...
