And just to ADD TO THE FUN, I CAN'T LOAD this article on this computer to read it!

But, here is a quote from Mr. Perry:

"It would take me three or four months to get my fastball back," he said.

(Apparently, he's talking about getting back in shape for SINGING...)

Scroll to the bottom article to read about it.

Yes, I am at the mercy of all you wolves out there....so, HAVE AT IT:

I'll add the Perry part because it might be gone.

(Sometimes these articles disappear and you have to join a newswire to go back and read it .)

On "about three hours' sleep," after celebrating with the team, former Journey lead singer Steve Perry arrived at Houston's George Bush Airport for a flight back to Chicago on Thursday morning. He was planning on attending the White Sox's victory parade, but not on performing the song he made famous and the Sox adopted as a rallying cry — "Don't Stop Believin.'"

Perry hasn't performed since splitting with Journey, and isn't in vocal shape for the sonic stretches required by "Don't Stop ..."

"It would take me three or four months to get my fastball back," he said.

Excellent Nora! He didn't have to explain himself tho. There is an old saying........."Never Explain, your friends don't need it and you enemies won't believe you anyway."
Thanks for the post.

I don't know exactly what you want us to say... :?
One minute you are on here vociferously declaring "LOOK! He's still got it!" and now you are posting articles excusing why he no longer has it.
Can you please make up your mind?
I am getting dizzy over here.

That is a stupid saying.
If my friend was a renowed exemplary singer and he sounded like shit one night, the first words out of my mouth would be, "dude, what the fuck just happened?"

I'm not sure the point in the article other than Perry saying it would take him 3 or 4 months to get into singing shape. I didn't read anything where it says he IS going to do so, but who knows.....

off topic, I know...but I've always had it in my head that Ruby's sig is actually a self portrait... :D

Thanks Nora and SMB. :D

He didn't say he was going to get back in shape for singing, he said he wasn't going to sing the song at the parade because he wasn't in shape for it. Evidently the team wanted him to do it so much that he just had some fun with them anyway.

They should have clarified the fact that Perry left Journey twice and hasn't performed since the second split.

I don't expect you to say ANYthing....

I wanted to bring this article over that I saw from another site....the original poster put up that quote about the "fastball", and I thought, "hmmm...let me read it!"

So, I tried to; I'm on a verrry slooow laptop DIAL-UP computer; the thing would not load...

So, I thought it would be interesting to bring it over here, NOT KNOWING what it was about....except for Steve and something about getting in shape for singing....but knowing how you all feel about the current state of his voice.

....and I decided to make up a bizarre subject line.....that's all.....

That isn't a great point.
Fuck, that isn't even a remotely "OK" point.
If my friend was a renowed matchless singer and suddenly sounded like crap one day, you better believe I'd be asking for an explanation.
Of course, with you march-in-lockstep homogenous drones, Perry could butcher your entire family and you wouldn't ask for an explanation.
I can hear it now;
"Steve is a sensitive artist and needs to do what is in his own best interests. If that includes dicing Pop-Pop and Junior into tiny little pieces then so be it. As long as I have my Perry music! :D "

Brainless automatons.

Well NC, Perry is NOT a "friend of yours", so he owes you nothing! He just had a great time at WS & was singing for the FUN of it for the baseball players, so get over yourself!

Lori-you are a vapid dunce.
HOTS's phrase (which you enthusiastically agreed with) stated that (paraphrasing) "you don't ever owe your friends explanations".
So even if I was Perry's friend, I'd still be owed nothing from the man.
Keep your own logic straight, you thickheaded twit.

Actually NC, I don't view myself as a friend of Perry, I see myself as a BIG FAN of him though. Perry does not know me personally NOR do I know him personally.

A friend is someone who hangs out with you, goes to dinner with you, or goes to the WS & helps cheer for the White Sox with you. Now as much as I would love to be a friend of Perry's, obvisiously you know, I don't have that kind of relationship with Perry,

I'm just a big fan of him, his voice, & his music!!! HE owes "me" absolutely NO explanations, I accept Perry just the way he is!!!!

For some people Heard, this is their reality...but I Honestly wouldn't lump Noble in that category. If he knew what kind of day you had, he would have badked off.
Noble's good people....and I hope brighter days are ahead for you and your family.
