What cover would you like to hear Journey play....

Yes, I want to hear Generations material on Sunday.
But his is a hypothetical. Journey did play Jailhouse Rock on the ROR tour back in 1986.
Just for poops and giggles...what do you think would be a cool cover for the band to play live?

None.
They have way too much material and I'm not a fan of covers.
They are already doing Voodoo Chile anyway.
Jailhouse rock was part of that terrible ROR setlist.

A lil' ol' blues # by the name of "You Got To Move." In a Schon-infused, punched up 4/4 treatment (ala Aerosmith) as opposed to the Stones' version on Sticky Fingers (slow, 1/4).
I think that with Steve Augeri, this band could do blues/rock magic.

I don't recall the exact setlist. Was it that bad?
I know they opened with Only The Young on that tour.

They could be as lame as STYX and try to rippoff the Beatles
I guess they do not need that Styx is the band that is desperate

Journey will NEVER be as lame as Styx. They won't EVER record a Cover. Covers are for bands that can't write any original tunes for themselves.
I don't know why people try to lump Twigs in with Journey..The two are not even close.

OpeningAct:
In reading them, they appeared to be short (90 minutes) featured covers:...Jailhouse Rock, Reach Out, etc. and Perry solo tunes:....Strung Out, Oh Sherrie and Foolish Heart?.
If I were to put my ultimate setlist down and compare the two it would look like different bands.....

You're right Eric...I completely forgot the Street Talk tunes...

Yeah, I agree with you about the setlist thing.

Ya know, you would think that is a stupid question...but I don't really remember if he did or not! I guess I assumed he did but I don't think I ever hear anything about it....

But he did....It was called the ROR Tour....
In 86 "Journey" played nearly as many Street Talk songs as Perry performed FTLOSM songs on his 94 tour.

Good point, NMT. I hope Neal, Jon and Ross got a cut of that record's sales.

Thanks, but I should have noticed that Deano had already called that a Perry tour.
Neal did inject some life into what I felt were some pretty bland instrumental performances on Perry's album. But it makes me sick to think of Journey playing Oh Sherrie (sorry OhSherrie, but I hate the song). I also hated to hear people referring to it as a Journey song, some still think it is.

Go look at the advertising for the remaining venues on the tour. OhSherrie is mentioned in the Bands catalogue history..Makes me puke.

Now I really liked Oh Sherrie. But I also hate it when people call that a Journey song!
