Seriously....

They show an "Escape era" nano-second of him on the commercial promo....

What's his category?

This dumba$$ computer CAN'T get VH1!......

Please elaborate. I have no idea what you are talking about.

Perry is Perry

OK:

VH1 has an end-of-the-year show called "Big In..". It's been going on for about 3 years now, I think. They do a retrospect of the year that "almost was" (that's what they call it).

In the commercial, they show Steve....which leads me to believe that he's been "nominated" for....SOMETHING.....

Most likely if you go to VH1.com, you'll be able to navigate to its page.

Well, yeah darlin', but it shows a pic of Steve Perry and mentions a Perry era song.

Perry also was right up there for those Awesomely Bad Songs a while back.

It doesn't matter that Perry's picture was there; that shows VH1's ignorance. Journey with Steve Augeri was out there all summer, busting their keesters, so Perry could go jetting off to a baseball game whenever the whim hit and make a fool of himself.

Why isn't it a Jon Cain era song? Or a Neal Schon era song? This really pisses me off.

To use a sports analogy from a hockey movie, Miracle; "The name on the front, is a Helluva lot more important than the name on the back!"

Figure it out.

Well, maybe it's as simple as being the Frontman meaning you're the person out front that people recognize the most.

Yeah, and Steve was in front, with a very recognizable voice and stage presense.

Deano says:

Deano, I can see your point and I agree, it should be that way, but it's not.

Oh Sherrie says:

Yeah, and Steve was in front, with a very recognizable voice and stage presense.

But this is how it is for most bands. Heck, I only know the name's of Steven Tyler & Joe Perry of Aerosmith, don't know the other guys names without looking them up. And I'm even too embarrassed to name other bands - LOL I know the names of the bands and the names of the lead singers, but I have no clue on who else is in their bands.

STYX and Journey are the only ones that I know every members name, sad but true. It's all in the music for me :)

I found it through Dean's link Nora, but I find where you vote. Journey definitely needs to win over INXS and The Fugees.

Um, just remembered:

I read at another board that the voting closed a few days ago.

So, I guess this is a "bump" to watch the show....and send out "Journey-will-win" vibes...

My bad.

The voting is closed. You'll have to tune in on December 4th, 7pm central time to see the results.

Yes, it was between Journey, INXS and The Fugees.

Thanks Nora and Suite. I wish I'd gotten there soon enough to vote. I feel like INXS may win simply because of the tv show.

Well I hope there were enough people to vote for Journey. I think INXS had a boost because of Rock Star show, hopefully they won't win. Then you have the Fugees, no offense, but Egad. Look what happened on that stupid show "Hit Me Baby One More Time" and the groups or artists that one - ACK.

Saw an ad on VH1 for the upcoming Big in '05 award ceremony.
Out of the performers showing up, INXS was listed.
Sadly no Journey. :(
