Ok. I have to admit it. And am I the only one?

It's only right for me to fess up here. Anybody that used to be on the old board, knows how totally critical I've been of Perry since TBF. However, at the risk of sounding like a teenage girl, since watching all the Perry publicity around the World Serious and just now watched the Bill Graham tribute again, I GET GOSSE BUMPS every time i see Perry perform. Even if his voice is not good. I mean, watching him at the White Sox parade I still thought, "WOW, it's Steve Perry singing".

While he may be a head case, I don't think I've ever seen a singer bring out more emotion from a crowd or get them more invovled in the moment than Steve Perry.

Free, are you into dangerous drugs? Are you high now?

Perry got the crowd so fired up, because they were hustling to get those ears covered up before damage set in.

What exactly is the World Serious?

OK, relax, I am only busting on you...

"WOW, it's Steve Perry singing".

I know exactly how you feel.

Just the fact that he came out to be amongst the population again was almost like seeing "Bigfoot" for God's sake LOL

(and I mean that with much affection).

PS ~ RND.....that sig of yours....LMAO

Ok, before I get pissed.

Have your Perry moment now. But when Journey goes to the HOF, don't be pissed if Perry doesn't show, and Neal becomes the face of the band. Thats it---owned-

Not owned until it happens darlin'. But if they should ever get into the HOF, and Steve did show, he would make sure Neal got his props. He always does.

Are you still sore that the Hokies got their asses kicked?

Perry better watch himself if they do get to Cleveland. That will be Neals band, and Neal's stage.

Nah, not that important to me, and the way they played, they deserved it. :(

I just hope we get the chance to see if that's true.

If Perry showed up for a star on the sidewalk, you don't think he will show up for the HOF??!! You think his ego would allow Augeri to be the only singer there? No way!!! His nose will show up, and the rest of him will be there 2 minutes later!

Again

I am as big a fan of new Journey as anyone, but there is just no denying Perry has magic about him.

I think he would show up, nothing to do with ego, he's earned it. If he didn't show I can almost guarantee his absence would get more attention from the press than the induction itself. He'd steal the show whether he was there or not, through no fault of his own. Not saying that's good or bad for him for the band, I just think it's true. What's questionable is if they even get there.

You know NIG, those protuberances on Neal and Augeri's faces aren't exactly little button noses. Granted Steve's is a little extaordinary, but then, so is his talent.

I agree completely!

But would he perform?

I seriously doubt it, unless he was the only frontman to perform. Again, that's not a dig at anyone, just something I think is true.

How much time is there between notification of induction and the actual ceremony. I know the Police had time to rehearse for a while to learn 3 songs. But would there be enough time (the 3-4 months Perry admits to needing) for Perry to get back in shape?

I wonder if it would be possible/probable that Journey would perform 2 songs from Perry-era with Perry singing and then a song like Higher Place or Remember Me with Augeri.

I know (just about) everyone's feelings on whether or not this "should" happen, but I am curious if it could happen...

I think Perry sounded pretty good...although the band sounded kind of washed out. I'm quessing it was the overall sound quality more than anything.

Having Augeri sing songs would be like having Fran Cosmo sing songs from Walk On if Boston ever got inducted.

And I own.....Arrival, Red 13 and Generations.

So, I love Augeri and Neal Schon is the most under rated guitar player in rock history, but you have to be real. The Perry Era is the reason that Journey would get into HOF.

Plus, Perry could hardly sound worse than Bob Seger did in his HOF perfomance.

IF Perry performed, the HOF Commitee might walk out on syage and revoke the groups induction.

Of course I think and want him to be there. He SHOULD be there. My guess is, they wouldn't perform at all.

I think he'd have time. He would only have to get ready for a song or two, not a whole concert.

I doubt that Steve would go along with that. One of the reasons, and a justified one IMO, is the one that usedtobadnews61 stated. It may be the fans of the current bad who would start the ball in motion and get them nominated, but it would be the Perry era that earned them the recognition that would get them inducted. The only reason for them to perform any of the post-Perry material would be to promote their current work. The performance for the HOF should be made up of the music that got them inducted.

Rock'ndeano wrote:IF Perry performed, the HOF Commitee might walk out on syage and revoke the groups induction.

If anyone else performed the songs that the band is famous for, or if they performed songs that most of them never heard of, they would feel like they'd been ripped off and the press would back them up.
