Arrival...Red 13...Generations = 3 Journey & Augeri fail

Here's the facts:

1. Not ONE New England radio station has played any of the songs off of Journey's dismal new CD Generations. However, radio stations in New England play songs by Journey with Steve Perry as the lead singer, daily.

2. Has anyone heard a song off of Arrival or Red 13 on the radio in the past year? NO!

3. Most rock critics have a disdain for Journey and Steve Augeri. However, a few rock critics like Journey with Steve Augeri. The former rock critics consider Steve Augeri a c-level Steve Perry replacement. (The Boston Globe).

4. Fifty of the largest newspapers in the United States didn't even give Journey's Generations a CD review.

5. Unless Journey gives away the CDs at shows, each of the three CDs has tanked in record sales almost immediately.

6. Since Journey saturated the United States concert scene since 2001, they have nothing new to offer their fans. (Three hour shows, touring with no opening act, touring with other has-been bands has occured since 2001).

7. Most rock music fans have abandoned Journey and their current music, which has caused their fan base to diminish since Steve Perry was kicked out of the band after suffering a near fatal hip and leg injury.

I told everyone here that Generations wouldn't "generate" any interest from the majority of rock fans. I stand by my words.

2 points here Bud.

1- Most rock critics don't like Perry.

2- If you can tell me how the word "distain" is being used here, I will respect you forever.

And you have multiple college degrees?

Multiple degrees....multiple personalities....multiple exhibits that the former assertation is bogus....multiple examples that the latter is true.....

A multiplicity of jackassdom.

New music, 3 hour shows (no opening act)...you make all these sound like bad things (not to mention the new dvds headed our way).
What's wrong with any of this?

Thank you Mr. Grammar Police.

More rock critics respect Steve Perry than Steve "C-Grade Steve Perry clone." That's from the Boston Globe.

Has anyone here ever heard Steve Perry being called a Steve Augeri clone?

Yes, I do have multiple college degrees, and you have a violent online personality.

You are mistaken. That obscure music station did not play any of the material from Generations.

Face it. Generations didn't sell at all. The CD give-a-ways don't count either.

Show me the CD sales of Generations, and I will promise to laugh.

Journey stinks. The few die-hard fans loved the three hour shows, but most fans couldn't stand the lousy pre-Perry material.

The DVD is going to stink too. Remember, it's Journey of 2005.

The band has to leave the USA and tour Europe because they have nothing to offer than USA fans anymore. They're washed up.

Eric, you must be talking about yourself.

Here's the facts:

1. I don't have "a job". Instead, I have a career.
2. You don't know me at all except that I anger you for posting my facts and opinions about Journey.

That doesn't answer my question, Troll.
You said this band has nothing to offer. I rejoindered that with interpolation of the fact that this band has the current tour, the impending dvds, and a new album..that's a whole lot of nothing, troll.
What more can a band (any band) put out?

Andrew, here's some questions for you.

1. Do you only want people to post positive threads about Journey? Because if you do, then your site is no better than BackTalk. I try not to personally attack others while posting my disdain for Journey.

2. Why do you take my posts so seriously? You have personally attacked me for months by calling me tool, troll, and buffoon. If I am all of these, then why can't I state my facts and opinions about Journey just like everyone else here?

3. Do you really believe that VH1 decided on their own to stop having a Journey message board? That's not true because Journey and some fans of Journey were upset that people including me were posting unfavorably about Journey and their fans.

Journey prefers a "structured" and "censored" official website and demanded that VH1 comply to their demands. VH1 did not decide on their on to remove the message board section.

Neal Schon criticized the VH1 message board because we were able to attack Journey and their fans with zero compassion.

I want you to know that I appreciate posting about Journey on your board, and wish I could say something favorably about them. They are just no good anymore at anything they do. Plus, I know that about four people here enjoy personally attacking me, so I try to find some time to make "the message board dependent" posters happy.

Thank you,
Journeytroll

1. Their current tour is shows with about 2/3 of the arena capacity. Some even less.

2. The "new" DVD is a 1981 concert. Steve Perry and Journey should be ashamed of themselves for trying to sell a dated concert.

3. The 2006 DVD is a concert of them in 2005. Big deal.

4. Generations stinks. Show me the actual sales of this crummy DVD, and don't try to count the CD give-a-aways at their shows. Facts are facts.

5. Journey has some fans still, but their fan base is dwindling each year in the USA. The rock stations won't play the CD, and the major newspapers won't review the CD.

All in all, Journey and their fans are made fun of by so many people. Today's sitcoms give unfavorable Journey references. I even heard comedians making fun of the current Journey.

I wish the VH1 message board came back, and I will never forget the people that took this outstanding board away.

You can't say this band has nothing to offer and then go on to critique a laundry list of new products headed our way.

The fact that you can comment on soo many different things (tour, dvds, cd) currently going on with Journey belies ur own claim and proves that they DO indeed have something to offer, Troll.

I am not mistaken, I have the arbitron info from Mediabase for TPIYH during the week of Oct 31-Nov 6 which includes WAQY. The info includes number of spins for the week, number of spins for the previous week, total number of spins and breaks the spins down by shift. Just because YOU have not heard it does not mean it was not played...

Furthermore, the CDs at the concerts were not "given away" they WERE sold. While they may not be counted by the RIAA, they are counted by the band.

You have NO PROOF of that. That is speculation on your part. However, the way YOU attacked Journey fans, who were not even ON the VH1 Message Board about things OTHER THAN being Journey Fans was completely disgusting!
