Once again, Jeb shows a denigrating attitude towards Steve Augeri. Forum members here picked up on it during his last interview with Perry and it's evident in this one, as well (I think).

Aside from that it's a great interview. Ross discusses Jon and Neal's frustration with developing recognition outside of Journey, he also gives his thoughts on the new Perry-produced dvd along with much more.

TNC,

Thanks for posting this. Interesting interview.

On the Jon and Neal frustration issue..... if after selling millions of CD's with their songs on them, playing in front of millions of fans and they don't still feel validated or recognized for their talents, I feel pretty sad for them. I don't know what they could do careerwise at this point that would help them fill that void.

pretty unfortunate they can't fill that void...that's something they have to do for themselves. can't keep looking for something that you already have.

Ross Valory wrote: The idea is not to have a clone of Steve Perry’s voice. The idea is to have someone who can sing that material and anything else as well. We finally have found there is a value to spread out and broaden the styles. On the new album you have two or three Augeri compositions. Why be afraid? We have not gone over our audiences heads. In some cases, if you heard the music without being told who the band is, you may not think it is Journey. Maybe that is good.
