Why does it hurt some of you so much to realize that Houston 81 was Journey at its total peak?
And with all due respect, Journey has a singer that can't even cover all the hit songs. So my goodness, just use your critical thinking skills before saying something retarded. I still can't believe that somebody has actually fooled themselves into believing that the current line up is as good as they were in 81. Geesh...........
Now that i'm off my soap box, was the Houston concert at the start, middle or end of the Escape tour?

i didn't know half the songs only the ones which were well known such
as Open Arms, Stay Awhile, Mother Father, Party's Over and one or two other ones. From what I heard I thought he had a tremendous voice and I don't know how Steve A. could compete with it. Ever. Not in a million years. And I don't think SP could compete with it either. He can't. No way.

I don't joke about things like this. It's less sloppy. Given the choice of the 2 dvds, and of course it's close, I'll take the performance on '01.

You may not think Steve can compare with Perry of 1981 (and in many ways he can't) but overall that band is phenominal. Years of touring have led to an incredible show and the setlist we had this year was UNBELIEVABLE. I am grateful to see Journey with Perry live on DVD. But I am WAY more excited about the possibilities of a 2005 DVD.

In what respects? Not saying ur wrong, just wanna hear what you disproved of. I think Augeri's stage presence is lacking in the DVD. The timid guy on stage is not the guy I saw this year or last year or the year before...
The '05 DVD should rectify that.
