Hmm. Who could Neal be referring to?

While discussing Jeff Soto's exemplary vocal talent, Neal once stated..

"Anybody can make a record these days and sound great and I have been in that situation that the singer can't do it live and no, I won't mention the band."

Who do u think he is referring to?
I have some Bad English boots, but I thought Waite sounded good.
Never heard Paul Rodgers live.
Hagar is a renowed monster live in concert...couldn't be him.

What do you guys think?
