Backup Vocals

I noticed that on both songs, Ross does not sing backup anylonger. I remember he always sang backup, and quite well. Neal really doesn't anylonger either.
Is this attributed to Deen's phenominal ability? Yes, I know Jon does lead vox on EG, so you have your lead singer backing on that one, but I believe RV has basically stopped...Perhaps Deen would have more in the tank for lead vox, if he slowed down on Backing vox.
