Make your own Greatest Hits-type collection but instead of Journey's best, this is an anthology to feature some of their worst or least favorite songs. Here goes mine (ranked from total shit to the semi-tolerable).

1. Believe
2. Live and Breathe
3. Eyes of a Woman
4. Once You Love Somebody
5. It Could Have Been you
6. BackTalk
7. Daydream
8. All the Things I love About you

That's all I can think of right now.
Compile your own Anthology of Shit!

Why are we always bagging Raised On Radio??

I love that album....

I would put the entire TBF CD on there, except for MOL. I remember getting that CD, loving the first tune, then being horribly disappointed by the rest.

I'm sure I'll miss some (there's just too many ballads on TBF that should go on the list, so I'll be selective, plus I haven't listened to Arrival in about 2 years)...

1) Can Do
2) Castles Burning
3) Better Together
4) Dixie Highway
5) Only The Young
6) Back Talk
7) Baby I'm Leaving You
8) Gone Crazy
8) Message of Love
10) Walks Like A Lady
11) Kahoutek
12) Don't Go Down On Me Baby
13) Anytime
14) Believe
15) Im Cryin'
16) City of Angels
17) Mystery Mountain

Hidden Bonus Track: Never Gonna Give You UP (Live Rick Astley cover, Norman OK 1983)

Jeremy, that list contains some of the best Journey songs of all time.
Message of Love, Only the Young, Dixie Highway...all great.

Andrew, I didn't include ALL of ROR.
Only the parts that desperately need to be excised.
Eyes of a Woman/Once You Love Somebody/It Could Have Been you.

These songs are all boring as sin...not to mention sound dated as hell.

Don't forget I'm Cryin' and City of the Angels. And Anytime -- WTF?!?!I would put Open Arms and Faithfully before those on the shit CD, but that's just me.

Only the Young and Message of Love come from singing them all the time and just not getting into them. Same with Anytime. If I had to pick a Rolie song that just flat out rocked, it would be Just The Same Way. I'm Cryin to me sounds derivative and it just doesn't have a big impact on me when I listen to it. Perry and Schon sound great on it, but eh...Just doesn't do it for me. And Dixie Highway, that song just sounds gay to me. I know it rocks, but to me, it's just lame.

I love Rolie's intro to DH....sounds like a Cain melodic-Journey piece. Then the main parts of the song start and it just lurches, staggers and kinda collapses into the gutter right away where it remains hemmorhaging.
It's like, trite or something.

Because it was recorded with a drum machine, it's too poppy, Neal hated it, 2 members were fired by a certain asshole, and it was supposed to be called Freedom. Is that good enough for you, Boss?

Yeah, it's a helluva pop album, and Girl cant Help It, Be Good to Yourself are great, but overall, it sucks.

If Journey had stayed together after ROR and continued on that musical track, I would have bailed.

They do sound dated, and just how many layers of vocals did Perry use? He sounds heavy, but it's due to multiple layers..

I digress; Lame album...

I think Neal would have too, as I would as well.

ROR is not a Journey album. It is a Glass Tiger album.

Love ROR, find it to be incredibly underrated. It's the album tracks (except the title track, that one kinda gets on my nerves) that carry it for me and BGTY is a hell of a classic JRNY anthem.
Praps people were misled by that or Suzanne as the big single and expected a record full of those only to play it and have it take a huge left turn. For me that was the case w/ U2's How TO Dismantle....throw Vertigo (title ripped of from Neal) out as the lead single then put 11 other mid-tempo to dentist music type songs. But the difference is ROR's album tracks DESTORY Atomic Bombs. Just my opinion, of course.

No, it's a Perry album.

You are going to put down Glass Tiger, but prop up Duran Duran?

By the way, Glass Tiger opened for Journey in '86..I thought they really could sing, and their harmonizing was great.

well then you had Missing Persons..is there any difference? Why don't you two magpie cocks go get essential Loggins or Streisand.

Streisand has some good tunes. Loggins has a couple. And I am secure enough to admit it. Like I heard some comedian say once... "Sure, I'm older now, but not old. I listen to Manilow, but REALLY LOUD!".

My List:

Separate W....I mean, Message of Love

Baby I'm-a Leavin' You

One More....actually, the entire TBF CD, except the Title Track: I like the meaning of it....thought it was cool that Steve was singing phrases from the "Book Of Corinthians", Chapter 4.

Has everyone here lost their mind?

Has anyone NOT seen how pumped up the crowd gets for SW?

You people are high. Seperate Ways, and yes, it's spelled SEPERATE, is a timeless rock anthem.

MOL isn't, but is still decent

I honestly can't understand how anybody would put Seperate Ways on a Journey Sh*t list. That song is what led me to Journey in the first place! Now, if you're talking about Journey sh*t videos, then it would be #1!!

I have a short list because there isn't many Journey songs I dislike, but here is mine:

1. Castles Burning
2. Happy To Give
3. Butterfly
4. Believe

Oh heck....I'll have to put more thought into this one.....
