I caught your description under "Journey" on the Table of Contents page.

Enough of the hiding...Cough it up. Who is the other band?

I know it isn't Styx or REO because they wouldn't headline.

SoulSirkus, hope not.

I am thinking Def Leppard, Queen or some other European band, since that's where the tour is happening..

All the talk at BT is that Neal has mentioned touring with Def Leppard.
I do not think they are the right band for Journey, two different genres, but it would certainly bring in an audience. Def Leppard is having some success touring recently and they will finally have released their Covers CD. If it is co-headlining, it would take a band like DL. Soul SirkUS obviously would not be a co-headliner. I like the idea of Survivor touring with Journey, but they would have to be opening for Journey. Survivor have a new CD coming out, a decent European following, and the same manager as Journey. Makes sense to me!

What would be grand would be for VH to come back; That would bring back the genre from the dead if those two bands toured together.

That would be awesome, but we know it ain't gonna happen. VH is dead for now, and EVH doesn't like that Neal plays better than he does now!

Hey, Andrew - How about a Toto-Journey co-headlining tour?

I think it will be DL or Bryan Adams.

Makes sense Dave, even DL.

DL has softened up quite a bit, and their are fans of both bands who like the other.

heck, if DL can tour with Adams, they can tour with Journey to be sure.

DL, being E uropean, would also help. I am not worried at all about ticket sales..This, if true, would sell huge.

That was discusseed a LOT last year! Toto was specifically mentioned because of their strong European fanbase. In fact, I seem to recall Steve Lukather commenting on the idea. But to be honest, I think Journey would need to open for Toto in Europe, but then Toto could open for Journey in the US. Make it a WORLD TOUR!!

Dude, I bought Toto yesterday..KOD..pretty good, but I just can't see the two together..

Adams..No. He has got other things going on next year.

Has to be DL.

I hope they don;t tour with def leppard. I saw them last June and all everyone wanted was to here the old stuff.
I don;t think of Journey as a nostalgia act., I think generations and red 13 rock. That was thebest part of the show in Il.

Def Leppard would be cool, but Adams would be a better fit. Did anyone here happen to see the Storm opening for Bryan in 1991/92? Too bad Smitty didn't do that tour, he could have hopped onstage with Adams when he did "Heaven"; seeing as how he played on the studio version.

It's a "co-headlining" tour. Styx in no way is going to share that with Journey. Adams could, but he isn't..He has other shit going on..He is a writer and photographer nowadays as well.

Has to be Def Leppard.

Then why do you say Styx wouldn't do a co-headlining tour with Journey?

Are on drunk?

I said Styx wouldn't "co-headline" because they aren't headliners!

Trust me, it's DL

ERIC, I will forgive you for that. I know you are not that fucking stupid.

Now, pull your foot outta your mouth....

Both are big? Are you on coke? Styx can't fill a theatre of 1200 in their hometown, and while Journey is a lot bigger, but not huge by any means.

Styx has a far smaller draw than Journey at this point! Did you see in the Styx forum where they only sold something around 680 tickets to a House of Blues show this past year? Journey sold out the Myrtle Beach House of Blues back in November (granted, capacity was about 2400), but they are on a much higher tier than Styx is in the world of music business.

That said, most reviews from the Main Event tour DID mention that Styx and REO alternated nights at blowing Journey away with their show and their energy, and that Journey almost seemed apathetic on that tour.

I think the constraints of time and a hits-only de-facto requisite (Check the interviews for that tour) for their setlist led to the apathy a lot saw for JRYN on the ME. Deano swears by the boot of the Albany show of that tour though. I like it too, not as much as him.
