It's good to hear all the good well wishes and prayers. Thank you Noble Cause for your kindness in dedicating a thread to me. Thanks to all who sent their prayers over the wire...I received them all.
You want an update. Well, I am feeling no pain right now, so I can say all I am allowed to say. Trust me, there are some facts i cannot comment on.
I am in a hospital in Camarillo, CA, and am going home Friday..
Late on Friday night. I was taking a Pacific Surfliner train from Los Angeles to San Diego, deadheading the equipment(no passengers aboard), and in the town of Carlsbad, CA, we struck an eastbound tractor trailor truck with conrete slabs destined for Calexico, CA. We were going pretty good...I want to say about 90 mph..I don't know what the black box reported, but I had her maxed out...I was the lone person in the cab(locomotive), and what I saw was a truck being where he should not have been. It was far too late to stop ourselves, but common sense tells you to apply emergency braking at once....so I did.....it is an miracle we didn't come off the rails.....I was sure we would.....Even though we were 2600 tons, a truck can get under the front truck of the loco and all all Hell can happen......
The next thing I knew I was planted on the the fireman's side of the F59 locomotive. Translated= I was thrown across the cab into the wall of the cab. The only thing I remember was throwing the the whole train into emergency and praying....I am now a much more God fearing person than I was 10 days ago...that's for sure. I "knew" someone was dead" and that disturbed me. I was found by paramedics, out of it, and pretty banged up. Turned out I had broken bones in my left wrist and arm, a punctured lung, and a shredded right knee. O well, injuries happen. Well, I can tell you all, I was and am still a rag doll. I could actually post pics of me, but who the hell wants to see that?
Anyway, the results of this UNECESSARY collision was three Mexican workers, traveling back to Mexico, were all dead and I was beat up pretty good ..my Conductor, Rich, was unharmed...but he was three coaches back too......
I just want to say, a heartfelt thanks to The Noble Cause for starting such a thread. and the many people who also added their well wishes and prayers also.....
The people who questioned the validity, I am not at all surprised by your reactions..you are still classless bitches.....I do want to say "Fuck you" to you.
I also want to say that I probably won't be posting here much longer. I really can't support the lineup anylonger, for reasons I will keep to myself.
However, I do want to say this.....For all you Journey fans out there...Steve Perry deserves your respect and he deserves the right to be called the greatest singer of all time....I wish you were still here Mr. Perry. Someday, you all will know what I mean. However, I got more pressing issues to deal with nowadays....
Thanks again all......

Glad to hear from you
It is something how
when faced with mortality
and the frality of life
we begin to appreciate the little things
that make us smile
From a simple breath
to the tender wing of a butterfly....
Your words move me
for we are amopngst the ones who have seen the light
Be thankful for what we have
Don;t let the others things
bring us down
I wish you a complete recovery
Smiles
Sorry but I don;t care I make typos
life is to short to worry about going back and proofreading

I was just having inpure thoughts of you! And, here you are! Welcome back even if it's just to say "hi" and go on about your life. I'm glad to know you are well enough to go home soon. Life doesn't give us any more than we can handle. You're in it for the long run! So, get in line behind the rest of us and let's deal with what life has to offer.
Take care. Know I wish you the very best. Sending all my prayers and good wishes to you!

Take care and I'll keep you in my prayers too.

It's good to hear from you Deano. I can only speculate on your reasons for your non-support of the current band, but again glad to hear from you.

Well I'm glad you're doing fine and are on your way to a recovery.
I know I am one of the least Perry fan you'd want posting here, but
as I have stated before I do not wish harm on you or anyone. I had
e-mailed you before you had that unfortunate accident to see if we
could bury the hatchet, but you never replied which is fine.
I did not want to post on the "attn: team dean members" thread
because I knew I 'd be looked at as making or poking fun, so I
waited until you yourself could post to let you know that I am
sorry for your misfortune I wish you well and take good care of
yourself !

Hey Dean! I am glad that you sound like you're on the mend! I can't imagine how horrific that crash must have been, but it's truly a blessing that you made it through! I know I don't know you as "well" as some of the other guys on the forum, but I can say that you have definitely entertained me with your posts! I hope you reconsider leaving the forum or at least try to stay in touch with us in some form or fashion!
As with everybody else, I am extremely curious as to your change of position concerning the current lineup and Steve Perry - will we find out what you're saying very soon? As in this year? Anyways, glad you are feeling better and bud, you're in my prayers!

Not that I have to answer to you or anyone,
but I am a person who doesn't like to hold
grudges.

He means why do you need to tell everyone about your PM to Deano. PM means PRIVATE message. It's not real cool to PM someone then call them out publicly for not answering it.

Well, aren't we just the little high road taker?
Good for you. Next time, when not holding a grudge, it might make you look even better than you tried to make yourself look (and dean bad) to not sanctimoniously voice this on a forum. If your saintly attempt to bury the hatchet went unheeded how do you know he even saw the email?

Am not calling him out on it I just said It's fine if he didn't reply!
I didn't ask him why he didn't reply.
Anyhow, this is exactly what I was referring to when I said
"I did not want to post on the "attn: team dean members" thread
because I knew I 'd be looked at as making or poking fun, so I
waited until you yourself could post"
And the next time I post I will make sure I ask you & Red13JoePa what is ok & or not to post ok is that better?

Spin it however you want, just use discretion. PMs are meant to be private. If he didn't answer your PM, he either didn't want to or didn't get it. Deal.

Well, AKay started checking with NIGGSTER and me a while back and ALL our misunderstandings are behind us.
Right, Ange (Kidding, you know we love you)
So it just might work.
OOOORRRRRRRR to avoid all that work and back and forth you might keep private things private.
OOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRR even if you still choose to publicize privite business in here (and even if it's not an attempt to make dean look like he didn't want to bury the hatchet by saying "you didn;t reply.") you might not act so victimized when asked about it. One of my favorite manuevers of a certain faction is to play victim after getting called on attempts to bring private stuff here at the expense of say, a Deano.
