Journey have just cancelled their planned appearance at the Viña Del Mar Festival in Chile on February 25.
Vocalist Steve Augeri has not recovered from a bout of Pneumonia.
The band left the decision to pull out to the past minute, hoping Steve would recover in time, but he hasn't and regrettably the band must cancel their appearance.
Me thinks it might be.

How do we know for sure it is pneumonia??

Why do you care? You are not a fan of his or Journey's.

How cool would it have been to have this posted at Journey's official site! Man, that would be awesome, like, if they had a site that had regularly updated news and feedback for their fans, etc...

Funnee people in here, you believe Augeri has pneumonia but not that Perry needed hip surgery back in 98.
I won´t be surprised if Journey will cancel their European dates as well............
Deano,Sweden are ready for the semi-finals against either Slovakia or Jagr and Co.
So,will Canada do their thing against Russia tonight?
We´re also one place behind Canada in the medal contest, our countries both have 4 gold medals now.
Sweden vs Canada in the finals......that would be something and Peter Forsberg makes the final score on penalty just as he did back in 1994.
No hard feelings eh?!

Dude, don't get me started.
I am watching the USA Men act like assholes, taking stupid penalties and trailing 4-2 going into the third.
For the record, I DON'T believe Augeri has pnuemonia.
I don't see ANY tour this year.
In my eyes, the Journey has ended; sadly.

Well check back when Augeri begins to accumulate perry's history/reputation for mysterious and questinable no-shows/cancellations/career hiatus causings and utter flakeouts.
Untile then forgive us if we extend him the benefit of the doubt on one of the first (if not the first) cancellations Augeri has caused.

Okay, regardless of the "problem," this proves a couple of things.
1) Singing Journey's catalogue is unquestionably one of the hardest to do in music.
Curious as to Perry and Augeri had life expectancies of about 7 years each?
2) "Flaking out" happens. It's safe to assume Perry had is ills, and so did other members.
Neal Schon, however, is a fucking rock, never having problems. Dude broke his stick in 2000, and still played, with the help of a stool. Cain, only missed the Pittsburgh stop due to appendix removal.
Whatever the reason behind this, rest assured speculation will grow from BOTH sides of the "Hatred Fence." And it should grow. Goddammit, I don't want to look through rosy glasses. I don't want to be lied to, again. I want the truth from managemeant, and Andrew, I'll tell you right now, what you got from Mgt last night was a complete 100% bonafide lie.
Honesty has to be opened here; there can't be anymore BS. The poor people at BT are clueless. Does that mean we have to be too?

Backtalk STILL hasn't made it official...Like Andrew is full of shit or something.
What's really funny is Mgt tells Drew, and NOT BT.

Ahem.. 20 years ago. They should have been dead and buried after the end of the ROR tour. Either that or UnPerry should have been jettisoned before making the fans wait 10 years for another album.
THAT was the end of the commercially successful Journey.

From what I got out of it, it's going to be Kansas that is replacing Journey, not Foreigner.

I don't think it means they replaced Journey, I think it's got something to do with "Wayward Son" and "I'm Gonna Leave You."
Just kidding, I love Kansas too.
