This is just an outstanding idea.

Who in their right mind "thought up" this idea?

Say it isn't so, Neal.

Look at this lineup-Swedish Rock Festival

Def Leppard (UK), Whitesnake (UK), Deep Purple (UK), Alice Cooper (US), Journey (US), Venom (UK), Ted Nugent (US), Celtic Frost (Ch), W.A.S.P. (US), Gamma Ray (Ger), Krokus (Ch), Jeff Healey Band (Can)

Want to see Journey get booed off the stage? Here's your chance.
And no, just because a bunch of Quack Talkers think it's a great idea, it's not. If Journey can't headline over the likes of Deep purple, Alice Cooper, Whitesnake or Def leppard, they are done. This stinks to high heaven

As a soccer fan with yellow teeth with a tinge of brown,I think it is a great oppertunity for a band like Journey to play for a sh*tload of people. They may actually win some new fans who had no clue about them.
Seems like they are doing a few big festivals over there.

I have no interest in these festival shows, especially one with a line up like this. I'm not looking forward to shows with DL either. I had a great time on the last tour- glad I did it.

Dude, you are killing me. You are from Canada, a country that believes in, and uses toothpaste. I don't want you admitting this on this site? Are your chickletts all crooked and shit, cracked like a poor concrete foundation? Go to a dentist..

Jesus. I am telling you, IF they play this, and that's a big IF, the reviews will be horrid. Can you see Augeri breaking out All the Way or Faithfully? OMG...

PS- at least breakout some mouthwash.

Same here. I want to go to a Journey concert to see Journey, not another band I know 3 songs from.

The only way in hell this Monsters of Rock crap works for them is if they ditch ALL and I do mean ALL of the light stuff.

Which is 2/3 the set. If they could put together an hour set of the hardest stuff...well they'll still get booed to start with, but maybe they'll get by.

Why in hell they booked a show where half the acts are metal I have no clue.

Right on.

Journey mainstays: Lights, Faithfully, Only the Young, LTS, DSB, OA, WCN, BGTY, etc.

The only possible passable tunes would be (and this is a stretch), SW, AWYW, Stone in Love, WITS, and Chain Reaction.

Have a nice time guys. This is disaster. I can see the iceburg. It's as if Perry is eaching for the straw, and sneezed, and blew the coke all over the place...DOH!

It's not too late to cancel....

Thanx Deano, but my recommended mouthwash is a cheap bulgarian whitewine, chatauxmolotovsomethingsomething. At a $1.49 for half a gallon ,you can't go wrong. And it makes you feel pretty good at the same time.
Anyways,I think they would Europenize their setlist.(!) They do like melodic rock over there.Bands like Thunder and Magnum comes to mind.
It almost sounds like you want them to fail?????

Would it be safe to state that there will be fewer vocals and more instrumentals? To headline with these groups (most), Journey will need to portray a more “hard-rock” setlist to be on even turf. If they perform the same setlist (pre-Perry) as last summer, they’re good to go. Could this decision be from Neal? I believe his tour abroad (Soul SirkUS) could have been influential.
