Steve Perry vs. Steve Augeri

Postby JourneyTroll » Tue Mar 07, 2006 7:07 am

At their best, Steve Perry is light years a much better singer and performer than Steve Augeri. Millions of Americans realize that Journey is still a group, but they cannot give the name of the lead singer. Steve Augeri is still referred by many at "The Steve Perry replacement or clone."

Steve Perry will always be remembered as the best lead singer Journey ever had.

That's why Journey's a group, not a solo act.

I was glad to hear that you found out your wife threw the cds deano sent you in the trash and you were able to salvage them. Good on you. 8)

Nobody here would argue that.

Tell me this though.

Take Journey's biggest single ever...and I dunno what it is, but let's say for the sake of argument that it's Open Arms.

Record it with Steve Perry doing it a capella.

No band. Just Steve. Does it chart?

Journey's a band. Five guys. Whether it's Augeri or Perry at the front, that fact remains.

I have always said Perry is the voice of rock! Will be for the next 10 years or more, before someone comes along to reclaim the title. But the point is not who is the better singer (Perry), but who is helping keep the Journey alive (Augeri).-ERIC

Oh yea, forgot you were getting married, congrats!

Yet hundreds of thousands of those same people plunk their money down every single year to see the band live. So if what you're saying is true, WHOMEVER is the singer doesn't even matter, now does it?

If this is all you can come up with after being on "holiday" then perhaps it is better to return you to that holiday.

I have seen enough of these BS topics to last me a lifetime.

MOVE ON.
