Again More questions than answers.
More what ifs
Bottom line is you have to work with what you got
and they have quite alot....
What if they advertized?
Where?
Would the increased revenue cover the ad costs?
TV is kind of dated for advertisement
Not that there are many other alternatives
Radio may hit more listeners
especially the classic stations.
Uncle Joe On KLOS....oooops

plugged the Journey Tour the other day.
TV is used more for movies
I don't see people idling sitting back and viewing TV like they used to.
They have to get the word out
They can't rely on the dieheart Journey Fans
Perhaps that is all they think they can draw anyway so are pocketing the ad $. They have a point...
When I saw them in 2000 it was in the Glen Helen
It holds 65,000 and is one of the biggest amphitheatres.
They filed maybe half and a few of us like myself got the tix free from KOST.
Sammy Hagar is having a date at the GH as well as Ozzfest.
I checked the prices for the Hagar show and was floored.
Seats run from $80 to $500. Heck to sit on the lawn is $35...
With prices like these only die hard fans would buy a tix.
Perhaps they feel the additional revenue would not cover the ad costs.
Still they could be selling more CD's. CD's are cheap to produce and there is alot of profit in a small plastic disc wrapped in cardboard.
One thing I can say for Herbie
Is he held tight to the titles.
You would never see a Journey tune on a 70's 80's type greatest hit complilation. You wanted Journey
You had to buy Journey and with that hit you could find a whole Journey experience because every album is a powerhouse.
I think there is too many hurt feelings for HH
Journey would have to come back with there tails between there legs
Admitting they were wrong, Make ammends. Scope out a strategic plan
Set goals...Yep it's biz & in the end it all comes down to what each wants & can get out of it...
I don't know if anyone can get them back to the top.
The Stones are the Stones but they need Mick Jagger
Journey to me was up there with the Stones.
No doubt they were a driving force in the 80's
Everyone loves a Journey tune
It touches the heart like few bands can
I don't miss Greg Rollie
I do miss Steve Perry.
He has this ability to take you into the song.
The song becomes alive
You feel it as well as hear it.
There was magic
Thing with magic is its illusive....
Steve is not singing
Herbie may have some magic dust left up his sleeves...LOL
Journey is still vital and producting cd's
They have a top management comp
What kind of questions and answers
could we give that they don''t have?
They know where the money comes from and where it is the easiest to gain. Whatever they are doing I am sure they are trying to maximize profit but they are not magicians. LOL
Thanks, it was nice stretching my mind into the vast abyss of the music biz...
