Here's what's gonna happen:

Sony will come to their senses and sign Journey to a multi million dollar deal. They will even bring in 28 vocal coaches for Augeri. They will give Journey complete control over what they want to record.

Then, you'll hear Journey on the radio again just like the good old days. But you'll think it's Rod Stewart.

Start planning the next tour while Neal tries to create another Soul Sirkus.

Journey will not end because it is still more successful then anything Neal can do outside of the band. I doubt very much that Neal will end Journey while Journey can still sell so many tickets.

I also have doubts that Journey will ever release another full album ever again. Maybe they'll do EP's, or downloadable singles, but not a full album. I just don't think they have the drive to do it.

Go to their respective homes dispersed across the nation (New York, Minnesota, San Fran), and not communicate with each other until it's time to play more greatest hits fests on the corn dog/county fair circuit.

Neal will work on a solo thing and attempt again to attain a grammy along with enough notoriety so he can leave the current lineup behind forever.

After the flop of their last 2 albums and Red 13, especially the total lacking of substance with Generations, I doubt they will ever record again, either.

So much goes into recording an album - writing, rehearsing, studio time, editing, etc... If they hadn't given the Generations CD away, the only ones that would have left the warehouse would be bought by Backtalkers - and they would have bought 2 each just to try to show good sales numbers.

Journey without Perry can NOT sell albums, period.

Yeah I really like his works outside of Journey (Shine, Tall Stories) but I'll be the first to admit that his lyrical offerings within Journey have left something to desire (and that's putting it extremely mildly).
With Jon's help I think Butterfly and Believe could have been really cool unique songs. However, I don't think this band has gelled as a writing unit (contrary to what Neal says) and I think each member is really left to their own devices (hence, all the solo-type moments throughout the CD).

I do have to give it to them for Faith In The Heartland. That is a good song. I don't recall the others because Faith was the only one I played twice. I just couldn't get into the CD as a whole.

I thought Arrival was much better. I actually listened to it about 5 times, though the only songs that really stuck were "Higher Place" and "We Will Meet Again".

For the same reason they all do solo albums, and Perry sings backup vocals once ever few years - It's what they love to do.

They just no longer have any long term plans on doing it TOGETHER - AS A BAND.

I agree NC. Generations definitely grew on me after a few listens. Place In Your Heart has top-40 hit written all over it if it got decent airtime. And yes, I still LOVE Believe...I guess we'll agree to disagree on that gem...
