I have reached my limit. I have sickened myself by wishing Steve Perry would sing with Journey just one more time.

Now, in my life I have accomplished anything that I really put my mind to .

What I am talking about it is this: I fly out to CA to meet with Steve Perry with the objective of getting him to sing with Journey one more time. It won't be public and I will be the only one that views this when it happens so you all will have to take my word for it. I'll clear it with Steve to let me take a few pictures for all of this board to see.

In order for me to take on this huge feat, I need something from all of you on here. All I am asking for is $3,000. That will pay for my flight, motel and such. Basically all of my expenses while being out there. I will be willing to pay for some of the expenses out of pocket but I can't pay the whole $3,000 now.

Andrew, if you can help me out here you know I'd appreciate it.

And YES I am totally serious. If you wanna help me let me know.

Excuse me for deviating from the new rules which I DO respect, but I think it's proper to say this.

Are you out of your fucking mind?

Yeah, let me get my checkbook out. You are wacked out of your skull.

Hey, if you are so eager, why not cut expenses, take the Hound, and eat Wheat thins.

Jesus, I have seen everything now.

Free, stick to arguing politics(and losing) to me. You act as if you are God.

I understand. Most will think this is nuts. I don't care. I think I can do this. I got a plan to carry this thing out. I'll try to make this trip as inexpensive as possible. But I'm gonna have to take time away from my business and I think this thing will take about two weeks to make happen from the time I get to CA from the time I get Perry to say yes.

If I get the sufficient funds, I'm gonna do this. Why not help me at least a little?

Ok, Free. You have my attention. I can maybe help you out on travel expenses depending on where you live. I work in the transportation industry.

When you get here, I will loan you my Pathfinder, and will even go to Espees house with, sort of like an enforcer...get his ass up and moving

Give me a PM, and let's see what you got.

Perry has been seen at Twains diner recently; a couple of times actually. So the dude is alive.

SERIOUSLY!

Maybe Drew can spring a cool 200K and get ACDC out over here in the States?

I was thinking of hiring Bruce for my son's birthday...After all we named him after the Boss.

What the Hell? The whole world has gone nuts!

Now, when Andrew said to be mindful that HIS name is associated with and as approving all posts here, I'm not sure that the reaction and changes he hoped for was hatching schemes online here to go stalk steve perry. In person.

This kinda thing might set your interview request back just by a few decades, boss....

I find it more likely that "we" on this board would be more than willing to re-imburse your expenses once the project is complete (with proof of course). I know I would love to chip in if it were successful. But it is rather hard to justify shelling out some dollars for just some pictures of the "event". If "we" were to invest, I think "we" should be invited to the event. "We" could even bring the money to 'the door' to get in!

Of course that would all happen after I woke up....

Mr. Perry?

Yes, what do you want?

I have to take you to a ballgame.

What is that, a gun? Please.

Yes it's a gun.

No it's not, it's your finger.

It's a gun!

Sorry Free,

but you coming out to Cali to convince Steve to sing one more time with Journey will be a waste of money.

Steve will do what he wants to do, when he wants to, and with whomever he wants to, and not one of us here would be able to change his mind. Steve knows that is what the fans want, but he doesn't want to do it. I would like to know how you think you can convince him to do it.

Y'know, the whole speech that James Earl Jones does during that scene with Kevin Costner always makes me think of Steve...wish I had a transcript of it..

The only thing I will say about how I will do this is: I HAVE DONE THIS KINDA THING BEFORE.

However, I got two strikes against me. 1. My wife first laughed at me when I told her what I wanted to do. Then after she knew I was serious, she hit me. 2. Nobody has donated anything. I'm still optimistic though.

You've done this before?? With who and what happened?

When you're wife hit you did she knock some sense in you?? Just kidding.

How do you figure $3,000? You can cheap flights and you can stay in cheaper motels - LOL

From what I heard, Steve has had offers to sing with Journey over the years. He was offered money too, a nice sum, from what I heard. He was also offered many, many times to be on stage or tours with a few other artists.

I think when he feels it's right, he'll be back up on that stage for a special concert. Who knows when he'll feel it's right though, I think he's getting closer.

I was hoping that Steve would play at my birthday bash this year. Oh well I guess I'll have to settle for someone else

Free I do think this sounds crazy and at 16 I probably
would have given you all my hard earned cash.
However I don't think my hubby would appreciate me
giving any sum of his hard earned money to a stranger
to meet up with Steve Perry.
I also would like to say good luck to you because some
of the most brillant things in the world came from people
who were looked at as having just another crazy idea of
something.

Nobody you'd know. My point was that I've infulenced people to do something they said they never would do. The last time I did something like this it took me 3 weeks of negotiation.

I'll pay you $3000 to let Perry hybernate another 10 years to ensure he doesn't sing with Journey again.

Actually I have about a million other things to do. Since I have a family to support, I do have a lot of responsibility.

However, the only reason I care about Journey now is the REMOTE possibility of Steve Perry singing with them again. I really want this to happen one more time.

Also I think I could influence Perry to do it. Not getting much support from anybody though. Wow, what a surprise.

You come on here, asking for a LOT of money as an average joe to do what probably band mates, managers and promoters can't do or even WANT to do and you're put off by the response? Wow, I wish my world was that colorful!
