Into Rock Dogs Brain

Hey it's a message Board, right?

There is probably one guy on here, who everyone likes...no, not me  , but everyone likes Neal fucking Schon. The guy epitomizes "cool."

Having said all this, I would like to know what everyone thinks.

You think in a fantasy world, if Neal knew what would happen from 1975 to 1997, would he go through the whole Journey thing again? Would he put up with Perry's bullshit again, in order to make millions? Would he be a slave to the road for bank? Would he still make the cheesy slow stuff instead of the rock you just know he wants to be known for?

I would love to hear any and all arguments.

By the way, where the Hell is 28?

BOO!

Thanks for noticing!

As for the question....Neal has been a pussy in Journey for WAY TOO LONG! I think if he could go back with the knowledge he has now, he would HAVE to do it differently. But Neal fucked up. Year after year after year he fucked up. But I am not sure he really cares. I think maybe he has made peace with the situation. Maybe Neal just doesn't want to worry about the baggage of his past mistakes.

He would probably still be in Journey with Perry, and this time leave Herbie as the manager ad infinitum and skip the first two wives. :P

I don't think so.

I think Neal would have backed Herbie more often, instead of Perry. Maybe the rest of the band would have followed. We would have had the original cover for Frontiers.

I doubt the band would have given Perry so much power during ROR Perry would have quit by that time, or Herbie would have axed him. Either would have had the Freedom album instead of ROR, with a new singer...or the band would have went on hiatus for a few years and came back with Chalfant and Gregg, instead of the Storm.

The simple truth is that Herbie wanted to fire Perry during Frontiers...and I doubt the two would have been able to continue working together from 1983 thru 2006.

I think it's time to freshen up your look, 13... at least a different picture of JoePa. I can help you find one.

Neal is Rock Dog! I can't believe it! That's Rock Dog! Well I can believe it but I thought Rock Dog was someone else! Duh, where have I been living!
And nobody will answer me; but why do they call him Rock Dog?

Rock Dog was Neal's ASCAP name awhile back. Cain was Frisco kid, and Espee was Street Talk Tunes.

Neal chose his own name.

Thank you very much. I think I remember when Rock Dog would sign onto BT and post. Amazing. I didn't know who he was! That was years ago.

I don't think he chose his own name. Perry was called "Duck". Smith was "Animal"...don't remember the others.

I remember reading about Smitty being called "Crunch" because he used to eat granola. On stage he was "Machine Gun".
Cain was "J" and Perry was "Love Pipes".

Perry also mentioned "Magic Fingers" Neal a few times...

How did I miss this???

I have no idea what Neal would do. I do believe he is doing exactly what he should be though. I'm glad he wrote with Perry- "Patiently" is one of my all time faves. Neal is the epitome of cool, no doubt! A charming man as well ;).

Just curious, did Neal get the name from Randy Jackson or did Randy get it from Neal?
