KIND OF OT-JOURNEY MOVIE..?

Postby r@y » Wed Apr 26, 2006 4:45 pm

I dont know if this thread has been discussed before, but for the fuck of it, what if there were a movie to be done about Journey ( like Hysteria - DL )...?

Who do you guys think :

1. Could play the guys ( lets say we start from the top at the beginning right up to till, say, TBF maybe...? )

2. Could play HH/John Kalodner/All the producers, Elson, Shirley,Stone/

3. Could direct/produce

4. Could do the musical score

Now, before you guys go 'why stop at TBF?'...usually when you make a movie for rock bands, you kinda stop the movie at the point where the band reaches its peak/at its lowest...or something like that...

The movie could start from the early days where Schon & Rolie starts off the incarnation of the band, to Perry's entry, their peak ( Escape ? ) right up till the slide worsens ( post Frontiers/ROR ? )....TBF could be added to finish off the movie....

Something like that, y'know...

I think HH would be the perfect candidate for the Chief Consultant for the movie. ( to which our existing band members would vehemently oppose ! ) and maybe James Newton Howard for the musical score ( he was doing the rock thing waay back in the 80's before going into the movie biz, so I think he could handle it )...or maybe even Trevor Rabin (ex-Yes) for the score...

Director could be maybe, Bryan Singer ( The Usual Suspects,X-Men I/II, Supes Returns )

As for the band, well I gotta think little more on that....lets see what can you guys come up with...

Cheers

This ought to be a good 1000 post thread(By the way, we are behind Styx again, because our threads keep getting junked).

Anyway,

How about this:Voice over- (The Darth Vader Black Dude)"Verizon 411"

The movie you have been waiting decades to see.. You'll be sure to be taken on a thrill ride where nothing is comparable. From the rise of the great Steve Perry, and colossal mountain of hits, to the fistfighting Neal Schon destroying all assholes in his way. If you miss this movie, you better be dead, or in jail, and if you're in jail, breakout!

Cher as Steve Perry* Fabio as Jon Cain* Gabe Kaplan as Neal Schon
A BackTalk Film, a Cj production. A total Nightmare revelation
Rated G..of course

That was funny Deano!! Even though I think Fabio's best work was when he was hit in the face by a bird while riding a roller-coaster!!

Other topics have touched on this project, too...

Here are my choices:

Herbie Herbert - Dom DeLouise
Gregg Rolie - Keifer Sutherland
Ross Vallory - Anthony Michael Hall
Neal Schon - Robert Downey, Jr.
Steve Perry - Edward Norton

I STILL have problems with the following:

Steve Smith - ?
Aynsley Dunbar - ?
Robert Fleishmann - ?

Can anyone think of actors for these guys?

Warning: This movie's a slapstick comedy

Herbie Herbert - Jon Lovitz
Ross Valory - Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite)
Steve Smith - Owen Wilson
Neal Schon - John Leguizamo
Gregg Rolie - Adam Sandler
Jon Cain - That guy that played Stiffler in American Pie
Steve Perry - Jack Black
Aynsley Dunbar - Paul Reubens
Robert Fleischmann - Rob Schneider

Or - for the serious dramatic cast

Herbie Herbert - Vince Vaughn
Ross Valory - John Malkovich
Steve Smith - Edward Norton
Neal Schon - Tom Welling (Clark Kent from Smallville...you need a considerably younger guy for Neal)
Gregg Rolie - George Clooney
Jon Cain - Kevin Costner
Steve Perry - Ben Affleck
Aynsley Dunbar - Steve Buscemi
Robert Fleischmann - Matthew McConaghey

And no, I dont think Affleck could pull off the intricacies of the Perry role, but hey, it's a start.

I KNEW I was forgetting someone!

"Stiffler" is Ashton Kucher...and he was my SERIOUS choice for "Jon Cain"!

...then Steve Smith should be played by Patrick Stewart. Or, maybe he should wear a wig and be Augeri.

After thinking about it, Perry could be played by a long haired Andy Garcia..perfect facial similarities.

Good pick for Steve Perry, Jrnyman28. I thought the same thing when I watched his last movie, King Kong.

C. Thomas Howell is the closest I can think of that looks similar to Jon Cain. Possibly more so when he was younger.

Still trying to match up the other guys.

Adrian Brody!!! Quel Horrors! His face is so gaunt! Andy Garcia! Oui! I think the man is quite handsome and elegant. Self possessed. I think of the character of the man and then visualize if there are any similarities.
Adrian Brody! Yikes! He reminds me of a bird. Andy has strong character.

James Woods - a present day Ross Valory

If he wasn't so annoying, Jim Carrey could play Johnathan Cain.
