That is funny.

He said that Cain said this and that about the song and what the song meant but if Herbie is to be believed, Cain was a real creep behind Perry's back and I give credit for the unbelievable success of the song to Perry's vocals. Heck, I attribute all the success of Journey's hits to Perry's vocals, just like Neal said. Neal never lies and is painfully honest most of the time.

You either falsified this or got it wrong.
Walter Herbert said that he told Cain he met his match when he met Perry. In FACT Herbie said that at one of the promo events for ESC4P3, Perry completely downplayed the contribitions of JC, who only co-wrote all 10 songs. Cain got up an left to go out and vent in the parking lot. Who was the creep behind who's back there?

In fact, I feel this to be a major crossroads moment right there. For example, if Cain had not caved to his more gentlemanly side...if he'd thrown the little runt up against the wall, put his forearm in perry's throat and warned him against such behaviors in the future.....Perry MAY have still been the singer today.

And what would YOU suggest to settle the power play won by Perry? A hand of Texas Hold 'Em? Cain shoulda given the pissant an atomic wedgie.

Cain always needed Perry to make his music fly. Nothing he has done since has the magic that Perry's vocals and direction gave to his songwriting abilities. Perry will always be the one that gave recognization to any of Cain's efforts. Cain is dead in the water, now, just as Open Arms would never be, if not for Perry. Just My Humble Opinion. :)

They all, only now exist as a band, because of Perry, imo.

Journey! The Steve Perry Years! It's what hardcore Journey fans want.

that right? What part of When I See You Smile did SP write? How about All The Way, which went to 25? Say what you will about both, they both hit particularly WISYS, sorta like I say what I will about the Grammy-Nominted ( jesus, spare me) WYLAW.

Just the opposite is true. Perry has had no hits since his breakup with Journey. If anything, Cain helped Perry get heard thanks to his songwriting skills.

Cain's a genius...Neal's the engine and unquestioned leader but over the years through the present Cain's been the underrated and key part of the band.

Just as much as JC did. That song was written by Diane Warren.

Cain? Very few people even know his name. Schon? He's the guy that played quitar so beautifully for Journey's greatest hits and what ever happened to him? :?: He used to be so good.
