Quote From Neal in current Classic Rock Magazine

Postby jrnyman28 » Sun May 21, 2006 3:13 am

From Classic Rock Magazine's Monsters of Rock Edition:

Neal Schon wrote:Steve's(Augeri)has been with us ten years now.No he isn't Steve Perry but what are we supposed to do? It was his choice to quit the band we never got rid of him and we are delighted with what the new guy has done for us.Would i take Steve Perry back? the door is never shut on something like that but if you are asking do we miss him then the answer is no,you will see what i mean when we get to England!

The ball is clearly in Perry's court, according to Schon...Doesn't sound too hopeful then really!

What has the new guy done for you neal? He's tried to cover Journey songs almost every summer for the last 8 years. Emphasis on the word "tried". What else?

Ever heard of being in denial of reality?

Like it ever will or should be put to rest as long as Neal, Jon and Ross call themselves Journey.

I honestly didn’t expect Neal to call Augeri “the new guy” after 10 years. How sad.

Very true!

As for what Steve has done for Journey: he has obviously allowed Journey to continue touring, make money, create some new music, and regain some of their fanbase. Not too bad considering the prophecies of Journey's doom every year since 1998...

For the most part he's been a concert singer for them. I can think of at least 5 guys that could have done a better job on the songs than him.
