Blame

For the most part, there are only 4 or so non believers. I accept your concession :)

Now, who is to blame for all of this.

THIS is the million dollar question.

You should take a poll to see where everyone stands.

Obviously it's the Journey members.

I have been thinking about something though. I think that Neal and Johathan may feel sorry for Augeri and not want to cut him loose. This may be why this whole tape playing thing is happening.

Even if they are giving him a break, it is wrong to do it this way.

I'd probably say Neal, but without Cain, I doubt those vocals would be doctored to that extent. I don't think Neal has the expertise with vocal tracks to do it without Cain calling the shots on that. So I say Cain. I bet he makes alot of the "calls" (decisions) but lets Neal think they're his idea. It's about harmony, more than just the vocal kind.

I'm going to the video tape next.

BTW, even if it were true, most casual fans could give a F less. I have several house guests here listening to the boots with me. (We're all off work tomorrow) I told them what was being thrown around. Most of the responses were along the lines of

"They're old, who cares if they need help it sounds good."

They also want to know why you are all spending so much time on this and why I am bothering on the computer as well.

Continue on.

(voted for Bush by the way. Everything else seems to be his fault)

Beacon?
Note how the microphone is pressed up to Augeri's face for EVERY song. Like he is obscuring his mouth.
And when he goes to sing for real at the tail-end, and pulls the mic away, he sounds like a bad exhaust pipe.
Also, look out for the oversized foam mic cap that looks like a cotton candy cone.

I bet they'd care if they all paid 50 bucks or more per ticket, sometimes for multiple shows.

Baltimore.

I'll have the Beacon this weekend.

The Baltimore show is from a club and the shot is really up close.

I'm paying much more than $50 for tickets and I don't care.

I'd rather see Journey than nothing.

Unfortunately I voted for the UN-American, New World Order Internationalist as well. If I had it to do over again I obviously would not have. The guy is not an American. He's an Internationalist. Big difference. Bastard should be impeached!!! And NO i'm not a liberal. Farthest thing from it.

Don't feel bad, I made the same mistake.

If it's always been your favorite band and now they're pulling it over on you as a fan, it's no good. I thought they were above that kind of stuff, since they were always musically ahead of most bands. It is a surprise. That's why people are hung up on it, plus it's just wrong to take money from your fans and every member not give 100%. Cancel the show for God's sake till your ailing musician gets well. If he doesn't get well, rethink what the hell you're doing out there, so you can give people the live show they paid for. Seems simple enough, unless you are that strapped for cash.

Bingo.
Remember what Herbie divulged in his last interview?

"In ’84 and ’85, when they refused to tour, they made me liquidate all of their real estate investments and holdings that would have made them all so fabulously wealthy just like me [laughing]. I had other independent investments. To me they’re an embarrassment. They have played more shows with this new kid, Steve Augeri, than they did when they were originally together. How can people miss you if you don’t go away? They need to get themselves into a financial position where they do not need to tour every year but they can’t seem to break away from that."

I brought this financial thing up a couple weeks back and got slammed by most folks on here.

I said they are doing it for the money. And people came back from the dead to tell me how stupid i was.

Baltimore show = inconclusive so far. (Deano is going to love THAT)

Of course I've now had a couple of beers and am questioning if I'm really here or not.

London, Ontario seems very live and they sound very good. Baltimore seems so spot on that I have to be honest it's a little too good.

The conspiracy continues..........

Now here's the deal. Baltimore is September, when Augeri was having trouble. London is from November. I'll submit this to you, Isn't it possible that Augeri's voice improved and they laid off the effects?

Yep, I'll be sending my complete list out tomorrow. Haven't checked my PM's in awhile, been listening to clips of every single 2004/5 Journey boot that I have. LOL

Didn't you say that was the show you were AT? That is the one thing I would love to hear: a boot of the Denver show. Because I have this theory that everything so much better in person because of the atmosphere. Your experiences influence your memories. And I was having a great time so I certainly was not thinking about "why"! That atmosphere is missing on the boots.

Makes sense to me. I raised the same thing about the Chile show and then the private gig. This is what "put Deano over the edge". He said pneumoia can't be "cured" in a week, but I submitted that Steve may have been on the tail end of his recovery. Travel and change of atmosphere may not have been good for him in time for Chile but he could have been better a week or so later...

Yes I was actually there and am re-watching it now. I enjoyed the hell out of it and I like the video too. I'd be lying though if I didn't say I'm hearing it now seems way too perfect in spots. This was a September show.

A November show from London sounds much less perfect and PERHAPS more honest.

It's so hard to say. Even watching this Baltimore vid, there are points where I could buy into all this, and times where I don't buy into it at all either. The truth may be somewhere in the middle.

In the end it's pretty inconclusive, so I just choose not to over analyze it and enjoy the show.

Haha. You DO know this is a mesage board right? You think with the amount of traffic I am experiencing I have time to make sure everyhing is perfect? Trust me, I am smarter thsan you. when you write speeches for the president of the United States, let me know...until then, eat my ass, troll.

Nice try and sadly, no.

The Chile thing was cancelled because Television. I really believe the news of this whole thing was getting stronger an they were afraid we would notice, Hell, i was going to look with a giant sized microscope...anyway, they lied to get out of it, which was fine, but come on, use a better lie guys!

Again, I completely understand why Chile was cancelled. Steve could not perform and if he tried it would be televised. Makes sense to me. I was extremely interested in the feed of this because of the possible implications. I imagine they gave the pneumonia excuse because they believe/hope Steve will be ready to go and that this is not a permanent condition.

That's fine, but maybe this is a communication problem between Mgt and Band. To say he had pnuemonia knowing they were to perform next week in hawaii is pretty fuckin stupid, don't you think? I am all for lying if the situation needs it (Not the lippin mind you), but pick a different reason for fucks' sake!

That wouldn't matter. Hit Me Baby One More Time was a show full of lip synching on national TV and everyone bought into it.
