Kicked off Memerial Day observances with these 2 (will do The Beacon 05 and CHicago, '79 Thanks NIG tonight).
Floored again by LaRaza among others off '01. Also enjoyed the version of All The Way a FLAGRANT violation my no ballads language in my personal makeup. Better than the album version.

Houston ESC4P3 I was destroyed by Keep On Running. And in a good way. Wow. heard the current lineup do it with Castronovo at the helm but to also hear it live in its infancy. Schon/Perry (whole band) ruled like no other for these 3 minutes in Houston, 1981. Literally amazing. All started with 4 little clicks from Steve Smith. There is the difference of Perry opting to stay right along with the bg/chorus "KEEP ON RUNNING!! KEEP ON HIDING!!" rather than go it alone OVER the bg in different harmony like on the album. Now they're doing it just like it apppeared on ESC4P3 with the bg "keep on running!" Castronovo: "KEEP ON RUNNING!!" Don't know what I like better, but that '81 dvd version has a lot of energy and they were out for blood.

Well, Perry put the cd with the dvd as a package. But dude, to see the emotion of Perry and the balls-out fury Schon had rocking that night is amazing.

BTW, they've also recently put the concert out on cd in its entirety absent the dvd. Just the stand alone concert album, if people wanna save $5 and just have the audio.

Dude, I mean look at this concert!!!!!! I look at Neal playing and it's just .......

Fury I guess. He was a house aflame. This was their Tyson-Spinks momement and I'll explain. That night when Tyson KO'd Spinks in '88 I don't think any heavyweight in history would have beaten him.
Apply that to journey that night....

I know, its freaking insane isnt it. I reckon Neal was heaps better back then, he was like in his PRIME. Sure he's older now, knows more tunes but that concert in 81, its fury alright. The whole band was on fire, Perry jogging up and down the stage, singing aswell! c'mon that aint easy to do, unless you got the pipes and endurance, unless! as Jeremey once said "Perry might of been on something that night" and watching the concert again, I think Jeremey might be of been correct.

Neal, Cain, Perry, Valory, Smith! is the stuff :)

I agree Vladan they sure had all the musical goods
that night!

JoePa I think I enjoy the CD better to.
I can multitask where as when I am watching
the DVD I find it impossible to stop watching
all their talent on the screen.

Might've hit on something there, Moonbeam. Me, Deano (god rest his soul) and NIG have the 5.1 audio rip of the Vegas dvd. I do all my best listening in the car, and sonofabitch if I don't hear a lot of little musical/vocal parts when I just listen to that cd that I can't pick up when I'm there watching the dvd on a big stereo sound system.

Listening in the car rocks 8) I got the Houston cd disc of Perry's product in the car now.
