Good Lord....I don't know many journalists who say under their heading and I quote "This journal of the comings'n'goings and musings'n'enthusings of Dave Ling will be updated daily (except after nights of excess)" Just because someone posts a daily diary it does not make them a journalist in the conventional definition of the word.

Shania, Thanks for the link, I know who he is though, however, he did not write an article on the subject, he posted in his diary that he had received emails on the topic. He says and I quote again " Frankly, I find it all difficult to take seriously. But I'm in agreement with Dean, who insists Journey should own up to what they're doing should the allegations have foundation, and that some sort of official response has become a matter of importance."

To me he is more of a writer and interviewer of rock musicians than a journalist by conventional definition of that term. That's all I meant.

Doing interviews and writing about music means you are a music journalist, right? Anyway,no matter which field of interest they are covering, journalists usually wait.I am sure Ling is waiting for more info on the case and as soon as he will get it he will write more about it.

Dave Ling is one of the UK's most respected Rock journalists and has written for some of Britain's top Rock magazines such as Kerrang, Metal Hammer, Raw and Classic Rock. If there's a man who's word I respect its this guy.

Of course he hasn't put his neck on the line and committed himself on the subject just yet, but make no mistake you guys...this guy is the genuine article.

He should be respected because at least he is intelligent enough not to write an article on the subject until he has more facts in hand, than just a few emails from Dean. You say tomato I say tomahto!

The exact same position that Andrew has been in this whole time that people have been asking him to speak out on it.

NIG

I never had an issue with Andrew speaking out on the topic...the issue was with him allowing Dean's so called Freedom of Speech verbal attacks on those of us who disagreed with him.

That's it.

I am on Steve Augeri's side in this, not Dean's. That said, you cannot deny that Deano GOT as good as he gave in this. The attacks have not been 1 way.

Authentication, in the law of evidence, is the process by which documentary evidence and other physical evidence is proven to be genuine, and not a forgery. Generally, authentification can be shown in one of two ways. First, a witness can testify as to the chain of custody through which the evidence passed from the time of the discovery up until the trial. Second, the evidence can be authenticated by the opinion of an expert witness examining the evidence to determine if it has all of the properties that it would be expected to have if it were authentic.

For handwritten documents, any person who has become familiar with the purported author's handwriting prior to the cause of action from which the trial arose can testify that a document is in that handwriting.

There are several kinds of documents which have generally been deemed to be self-authenticating documents. These include commercial labels, newspapers and other periodicals, and official publications of an arm of the government.

A special category of evidence called an ancient document will be deemed authentic if it can be shown to be more than twenty years old, and found in a place and condition that a document of that age would likely be found.

His article suggests that the band has been "pulling the wool over our eyes for years".

Not true, only since sometime in 2005.
