Didn't they prove it before when they were accused, by doing an up close and personal appearence? Read it somewhere.

Joe Elliott sounds really rough live for the most part. A tell-tale sign that he does NOT lip synch. As much as I love Lepp, Joe has lost quite a bit of his tone/range over the years and is pretty rough nowadays.

I could not have said it better. Well put. If Def Leppard is/does lip, what's the point if Joe is going to sound as rough as he does lately and this is coming from a huge long time Lep fan who still likes them.

Leppard do not use vocal backing tapes, but they do use DATs for special effects and a lot of the big production effects their big hits feature.

Comming from someone who has seen Def Leppard live many times and who considers themself to be a fan of DL I can tell you that Joe Elliot sounds far to horrible live to be lipping!

Andrew, DAT= Digital Audio Tape (DAT or R-DAT) is a signal recording and playback medium developed by Sony and Philips in the mid 1980s. In appearance it is similar to a compact audio cassette, using 4 mm magnetic tape enclosed in a protective shell, but is roughly half the size at 73 mm × 54 mm × 10.5 mm. As the name suggests the recording is digital rather than analog, DAT converting and recording at higher, equal or lower sampling rates than a CD (48, 44.1 or 32 kHz sampling rate, and 16 bits quantization) without data compression. This means that the entire input signal is retained. If a digital source is copied then the DAT will produce an exact clone, unlike other digital media such as Digital Compact Cassette or MiniDisc, both of which use lossy data compression.

A tape is a tape is a tape :!:
