Hello Radio

Hi.
On the good advice of someone, I am taking a different attitude and changing up the delivery a bit. I know my delivery was awful as was the way I handled the debating, which was more like macho trash talking.
A sex offender? That's a bit harsh. Single now? I don't know where that came from, but I would ask you that my love life stay out of this. I think that is only fair.
Now, what is my next step?
I have been asked to come on a few radio stations this week and it looks like the first one will be the a show out of Iowa. They called and want me to come on and tell my story. There are also stations in Atlanta, Seattle and Los Angeles, I plan on speaking to over the air. I don't know if there will be any call in, but I welcome it for sure. I had posted their show name, then erased it after thinking about it....for fear of Journey Mgt pressuring them like they have already done to others regarding this.
I am surely drained and that is part of the reason I am changing direction. UI am not letting this go, but I am not responding to every childish claim, like am I a sex offender. Thanks for that, I needed the laugh.
There is so much more I know now than I did last week, and the radio will be a good public format to get this out to the masses.
Journey has cancelled Rockline. The band not commenting on this tells me a lot too, and their hopes of me closing shop will just have to wait...not happening.
So anyway, accept my apology for the horible delivery, the harsh words, and any ill will I have delivered, but I feel strongly enough about this that I will keep up the Blog. A note about the blog. Later in the week, I will take away the anonynmous option. It's just too easy for people to hide behind that moniker.
I will update you all on the radio appearances, thanks.
Dean

I don't like you.. to tell you the truth. But I think you should spend like $500.00 and sit down with a good lawyer and talk about this before you say a word on the radio. You wont be deano anymore. You will be jonny whatever and i'm telling you the amount of money that could and will be lost over the allegation could end you in a law suit. I would think about having some 100% confirmed professional evidence before you do it.. Unless this is a prank or something.

Thanks for you concern. I am a big boy. I can handle this and all the other stuff you all want to sling at me. I am fine.
Have a good day.

Deano....you've gone too far. Please stop.
All you've provided for examples are unauthorized boots, which we don't the source of.
Is this really worth it? You could really lose a lot here.

What concrete proof are you going to hand the radio stations? Some bootlegs you played with on your pc? How do we know what shows are really on the tapes? I think you are gonna be joked on if you go on the radio. They are going to want some credible evidence.. not just your blog info.

It's not hard to get bootlegs...there's a couple of 2006 Journey shows on Dimeadozen.org, and I know there used to be some older shows as well. They're so anal about boot info that if you got a show from there, you definitely know where it's from (and probably the equipment used and the taper's location)
Bootlegs today are a lot different than they were 20-30 years ago. The trading/sharing communities have done a pretty good job of ensuring that recordings get out there with the correct info.

Within the boot community that's all well and good but it won't fly in a court of law. Consider that RIAA would love to know who/where/how this violation of the DMCA is happening. They would relish the chance to bust these folks no matter the intent of the booter. This case would expose sources to them and they are rubbing collective hands together, I bet.

tmoney, you're sick. Why hide behind a screen name? Are you ashamed of what you say? I am so tired of people hiding behind a screen name and spewing garbage. Come on out, if you dare.

The RIAA I'm sure is well aware of bootleg trading, but either a) they have many worse things to worry abuot than a few music nerds sharing amateur live recordings or b) they realize people who collect boots also are the biggest music buyers and probably don't want to piss them off any more than they already have been.
Also, I'm no legal expert, but I imagine a judge, in theory, could order Journey, Swedish radio, or their sound guy to produce their copies of the 2006 performance and compare it to the Vegas DVD.

Naw.. there is no criminal case here and international laws would govern the foreign tape issues. I wouldn't be so sure about RIAA not caring about boots as they have gone after end-users of places like Napster. I think they are just building a case and the more organized the boot scene is the easier it is to bust.

They've gone after P2P users but only for downloading actual albums. They haven't (yet) gone after anyone exclusively for downloading unreleased live recordings.

I thought about that too. Hopefully, he's getting on KGGO. I'd love to hear Round Guy comment on this...they are big Augeri/Journey fans there. Kinda hard to do anything if he doesn't give a date/station...if it even happens at all.
There are a few others on BT who are in Des Moines, too.
