I've been on BT today and it just sickens me. The "So what if he's lipping? I love the band and he's a family man" and all that shit. (That includes Deano's blogspace.) It's A FUCKING CULT. They'd (Not ALL of the BTers. There ARE some with a brain...)drink their bathwater if given the chance. I remember why I haven't been there in a while.

I understand if people want to believe it's not true and so-on (Hell...I WANT to believe it's not true, but from what I've heard...Not likely IMO) ...but REALLY...If somebody is lipping a show (officially, obviously not official yet...) how can people NOT be mad about that???? I go to concerts to see if people can pull off the "amazing talents" they have in the studio live. If they can't....stay off the road. Simple as that.
If the accusations come to be real and not just doctored tape (NO...I'm not blaming you, Dean.) How the hell can people shell out hard earned cash to see them "semi-live"?
I'm just rather frustrated with the whole thing (have been for bordering on 3 weeks) and it pisses me off. From what I've heard (not just Deano's samples...OTHER boots I've aquired on my own) It's not looking good. Let me say that this has been one of my favorite bands since I was born. I got into music at a VERY early age, obviously.lol. But anyway...I will be attending the show on 7/30 in Houston to actually LISTEN unless the band has OFFICIALLY commented by then. Then again, I'll still listen without going psycho when they come out (Like I used to.lol)
I'm sorry to you all for this long rant...wonder if this should be in the Rant section????.lol. But I just really had to get this off my chest.If this is all true (for the past couple of years)...I'll be crushed.

For me it's what NIG said in an earlier thread... if it's true I would say, "Oh. That sucks." and go about business as usual. It's not going to rip me to shreds. And I would probably still attend shows because I like to hear Neal play.

Escape79, you have a right to vent your frustrations & questioning mind - a lot of us are. Personally, if I had been accused of something, I'd not only be making a statement, I'd be vehemently making a statement to defend my honor. This is what baffles me. The silence from the band.

The people on BT are the equivalant of 15 year old year girls. They go along with the majority with their "friends" and don't rock the boat because they will be outcast and not in the "circle of love" anymore. They are a bunch of sheep all with the same programed brain chip. :roll:

As far as them being like that because "it's the band's official website" that's pretty lame. People have free reign to speak how they feel on Styx's official website. Hell, back in the day, Tommy would even come in and jab with us over our concerns. BT is a joke and nothing more then a pep rally.

BT used to be good. The members did Q&A threads. All posted randomly as themselves, especially Neal then one day the legendary Neal-venitlates-the-Perryloon dustup happened and they were all gone in a puff of smoke forever. fans only now. Neal used to come in and jsut say Hi and update everybody, he'd put out an opinion question and ask for feedback. One day after Andrew criticized the ballad-heaviness of the the original 12-track running order of Arrival, Neal went to backtalk to see if everybody felt the same and wanted them to go back in the studio.

Replies galore, they went back in and laid down 2 more rockers. And kept TBAA on.

I agree with your post about BT. All I see is feel good threads. I haven't seen any posts that might have some constructive criticism for the band. I cannot believe that an official band site wouldn't want to hear about fan's negative concerns. If I had a band, I would want to hear the good and the bad. To shelter themselves in a feely good site, tells me that they really don't want to see for themselves what fans really think, and make some improvements.

One other thing, I am shocked that JourneyGenerations33 doesn't know something. :shock:

Go see his post on page 11 about Kevin Elson. I am laughing because he thinks he knows all, but this to me proves that he really doesn't. :lol:

Sorry, dude. Angie is right on. There are levels of accuracy on these claims with each BTer, but anyone who posts anything remotely negative (except for the current thread about the "miming" topic) is banned or their post is deleted. So all that leaves is a bunch of people posting about red leather pants and sunglasses.

This is the place for real music talk, and anything else that crosses your mind.

Well, if you think that it is a lame generalization, then why do you have lots of feel good threads, lots of rah rah stuff about the band? I haven't once seen a post offering some constructive criticism to the band. Is constructive criticism off limits? It must be, because I believe any thing less than the positive is deleted. Don't they want to hear what the fans really think? ( and not the Lets Give it Up for........... or the Stevie Awsome Appreciation Thread.). I am not bashing any band members, but if a band is to evolve, they have to listen to criticism too.

I could not agree more with you,as regards BT there are some nice people but it does seem its full of bored housewifes and dare you mention a negative and the cult will respond!
What is pissing me off no end is the fact that evan if they are miming,i get the impression they dont mind!!!!! Lets have a love fest for Stevey miming tonight.
The band owe us a answer,when a rumour that Neal was to leave was out Dean Castronovo put a post saying it was not true...now nothing??
Watching a singer lipping means nothing so i want to know so i can decide if this is the show i want to spend my money on.The band have nothing to lose telling the truth as from the sounds of a lot of people sound like they dont mind anyway??

And I believe you whole heartedly(SP?). ESPECIALLY since the vocal would be a HELL of a lot cleaner (not sounding like an audience boot) if it were. I've heard doctored boots (NOT ON THE JOURNEY SUBJ.)...sound is shotty for the band and vocals were clean as a whistle. I was just saying "IF".

As for most everyone else....Thank you for letting me vent. This is what happens when I post while drunk. Least my spelling wasn't too bad.lol.

I know you are a man, but I think you fail to understand that all that is allowed over there at BT is feely good threads. Not one hint of constructive criticism for the band is allowed.

And don't think that the generalization doesn't apply to you. Don't you post in the feel good threads like............ Lets Give It Up For............. or the ** Appreciation thread............... or ** Lovefest. I bet you do, which is following all others. It is a mentality of teenagers. Maybe Angie should of said "teenagers" instead of girls.
