There is a reason that Perry is not in Journey and it may be the same reason Augeri should not be?
That being they both have voices of quality,but not good enough to be fronting Journey anymore,your thoughts?

If the allegations re: 'tapegate' are true..... then I agree completely...

Time will tell with Augeri but I can wait..... and IMHO he deserves the time...

NO. If Perry wanted to be in Journey, he'd be in Journey. Even if Augeri's voice was in great shape, Neal equates Perry with dollar signs, and would boot Augeri in a second, if Perry wanted to come back. Sorry, but Neal has so much as said it himself (which I personal thought was unfair to Augeri).

Perry’s voice had changed, but he was not replaced because of that.

Perry left because of ego clashes mixed with possible health problems mixed with whatever the reason Perry just didn't want to tour was...

all just hearsay and speculation, of course

Obviously, if Perry can't bring it, he knows it and he is not going to fake it. He has too much respect for himself to do that.

Augeri... Well, it doesn't appear that way.

If what you want as a frontman for a band with the name Journey is someone to sing the songs that Perry recorded from '78 to '83 just like he did and in the same key throughout incessant touring, then I think they'll be changing frontmen every two or three years. And again, you have to ask yourself what you want Journey to be. Do you want just any band that calls itself Journey doing nostagia tours singing those songs? I guess it depends on what you think constitutes the integrity of a band named Journey.

They've already made themselves into a nostalgia band, by making stupid statements to the effect of "needing to play the dirty dozen" above all else. Now the longer they stay out,a nd POSSIBLY ruin the lead singers voice, the more they are becoming a parody of themselves. If Perry equaled money, then what does constant touring equal? Just sayin'

Essentially what I want is new Journeyesque music ever few years highlighting Schon. A million songs have vocal qualities of Perry, but that magical geetar journey sound...there is just something about it.
