I was watching the Greatest Hits Video yesterday and the Girk Can't Help It Video came on, my wife and couldn't help but laugh at the clothes !!! What the hell is that lab coat Cain was wearing and Randy Jackson.......... Dog what the hell were you thinking, there needs to be a weight limit on leather pants !!!

What was Randy's part in the Frontiers Album, he has a special thanks in the linear notes, thought I heard he played bass on After the Fall ???

You are correct, sir! 8)

Oh, and I believe that Deano came up with the "Hairdresser's Smock" to describe the lab coat, too...

Definitely can't stand that paint splattered coat on Jon.

I wasn't a huge fan of the 80s look.

Ya know, it has been reported for years that Randy played bass on ATF and I believe he did. But it is not officially stated anywhere. Journey does not reference that on the album, in TIME3, or on their site.

And I have never heard of the reason for it either.

It was talked about in interviews during the ROR timeframe. Randy was also Ross' studio backup player during the recording of Escape...but I don't think he made the album. Perhaps he was used during writing sessions and such when Ross was not available.

Isn't the hairdresser's smock the one he's wearing in I'll Be Allright? I think some of the stuff they wore in the late '70s was just as bad. Like that red and white getup Steve wore in a bootleg Infinity era video(shirt looked like it had squashed tomatoes or something on it) and that blue silk housecoat looking thing Neal wears in the WITS video. Gregg wore some pretty frou-frou looking shirts too.
