a complete flop...and EMBARRASSMENT without Perry. Quit it, and fix it ASAP. I listen to more and more boots and I'm stunned. Perry WAS that good. Just my opinion.

This has nothing to do with Perry.Yes, it's turned out bad. But not because that replaced Perry. It's because they did not know when to stop and forgot to give the guy a break.

Sorry, Saint John, not a Perry issue.

Like IT OR NOT, everything IS a Perry issue...as it pertains to Journey. Next person you see ask them about Journey........9 out of 10 say Perry...the rest don't know who they are. Augeri..........fuck...come on

Perry coming back won't fix a damned thing. It's broke too damned bad for him to "save the day". Get it outta your head about Perry. He's laughing his way to the bank.

i liked his performance; i thought it was a fitting tribute; what i didn't get was why people thought he should have been singing like he was at a rock concert and not a tribute to bill graham.

I had never been ashamed to be a huge fan of Steve Perry until the last few weeks.

Please stop insulting our inteligence by claiming that this witch-hunt that has been going on has nothing to do with obsessed Steve Perry fans bitching an moaning about Journey continuing on without Steve Perry.

I have always been a huge fan of Steve Perry, I'm as big of a Steve Perry fan as there is without being obsessed, but I'm starting to hope that Perry never comes back to Journey again strictly because of how childish so many of his fans have been acting on here. I really hate to say that, but it's true. :(

Nice try at spin, Bozo.

This has never, and will never be, about Steve Perry.

Saint John, go talk Steve Perry at almost age 60 into singing Journey songs again. Schon and Co. would have happily destroyed him the way they abused Augeri - who was a fine singer for most of his Journey tenure.

However Steve Perry had more stature and was financially set and didn't have to put up with that. Steve Augeri was a guy working at the gap who got a break and stepped into an impossible situation and did very well for a long time. I'd listen to Arrival any day over Trial By Boredom. (except for Message of Love, which I liked a lot)

You can criticize what's been going down all you want (and you'd be justified), but Steve Perry is not singing anymore. It shouldn't be about him.

Augeri has been thrown to the wolves. However, he did a really good job with this band for a long time. I'm tired of the beat downs on this guy. I laugh when people say that it's been 8 years and nothing...... Had Journey's lineup remained unchanged since Raised on Radio they would STILL be a nostalgia act at this point even with Perry still around. And if he came back, yes it would pop a successful tour. But only one. After that, the fact is it's still a band full of 50 somethings and hit records do not come to these acts very often in the year 2006.

I'm happy to have Arrival and Generations in my collection (not so much Red 13). Enjoyed the concerts from 98 through 2004 or so. Now I hope the band get get past this be it with Deen, Hugo, a healthy Steve Augeri (doubtful) or even Steve Perry if he can pull of these songs after so many years.

You are stupid, aren't you?

I was begging Perry back, you fucking right I was..and look, I was right about Augeri lipping. He cannot sing.

Perry sadly, is done with Journey, BUT what don't you get dumbass, THIS entire episode has absolutely nothing to do with Steve Perry.

Why is it sort of a 'Perry' thing for me? Perry was so good that this group became a big part about the front man and his vocals. I honestly do not know if this would be as big, yes, still a big deal, but this big of a deal if it wasn't so much about the singing.
Imagine finding out that EVH didn't really play the guitar all the time.
Someone made a good point too, that if you are going to do this, you don't on stage still act so
much like I've still got it.
Someone also commented that they were holding the contract over his head. If a group is asking you to do something dishonest, I don't see as much how they can hold it over your head. He's a big boy.
Some people to comment about how he's a good guy. So nice. Doesn't deserve this. Good people do wrong all the time, still doesn't make it right. Someone doesn't deserve something when they aren't a part of it or has nothing to do with it, yet it's affecting them.
Sorry for being all over the board here, tired and just had some thoughts on my mind....
Still blown away, not one comment from the band yet.
If they had admitted they were going to do this, then would it have been ok?
Is it more that they are doing this, lieing about it, or not speaking about it?

Not stupid enough to say things that I have to take back a few weeks later.

I was begging Perry back, you fucking right I was..and look, I was right about Augeri lipping. He cannot sing.

First of all, NEITHER of those has been 'proven' to me. I'll wait to hear Svante's concert before I decide on the 'tape' issue. The second issue of 'he cannot sing', well, you're wrong about that. ANYBODY can sing...some better then others. Even Steve Perry can sing. But, we've only had TWO WEEKS worth of concerts...It took Perry having the entire ROR tour and the first half of the FTLOSM tour to convince me that his singing sucked...So, I'm willing to give Augeri some time.

Perry sadly, is done with Journey[/quote'

Duh. I've been saying that since the TBF 'tour'.

BUT what don't you get dumbass, THIS entire episode has absolutely nothing to do with Steve Perry.

Sure it does. Before the big blow up, ALL of your 'supporters' were Perry fans. What has been going on in this forum has a LOT to do with wanting Journey to fail for all of the same old reasons Perry fans ALWAYS want Journey to fail...because Perry is not in the band. You're just their puppet.

that's not true Monker. I like Journey. I like Steve A. I like Steve P as well. I don't want Journey to fail. Why would I want something to happen to Steve A or the band. Journey with Steve A is totally a different band then the one with Steve P. I would not wish bad luck on either band. It's awful Steve A is having
vocal problems I would not wish that on any singer for a band. But it has to be dealt with. I just don't see how this has anything to do with Steve P. He has had enough problems on his own.
