A class act and here's hoping the medical issues get fixed ASAP. JSS is going to be fun to watch too. On with the tour and on with the show. It ain't over 'til it's over

Totally in agreement, Larry. Steve is a class act and one hell of a nice guy. This couldn't have been an easy decision for anyone involved. I am glad that Steve will be getting some well-deserved rest and hopefully will be able to rejoin the tour at some point.

Andrew-awesome job on the story. A classy display of journalism, as always.

Now hopefully some of the viciousness of this board will be tamed...

Thank you?

I paid $75 to see this 'class act' lipping his way throughout a whole show. Their first Euro tour in a hundred years and they faked it! They should have cancelled it.

I don't care how nice he is or how hot he looks in his red leather pants. Fact is, they bullshitted me and all the other people that waited for so long and there's no excuse for that.

Goodbye Steve, goodbye Journey...don't bother about coming back to Europe.

René

But hey, thanks for the excellent Arrival album though....you did leave your mark!!!!

I have really enjoyed the past 8 years with Augie. I hope he gets his problems fixed soon. Like 13 said, several singers have had their voices repaired with surgery, and maybe Steve is a candidate. Or maybe lots of rest will do the trick. Whatever the treatment, good luck to Steve and thanks for making great music with the guys.

And Soto... welcome.

I'm hopeful of a kick-ass finish of the tour w/ JSS and Steve Augeri's return to Journey with an album in 2007.

BTW, keep Castronovo on vox for at least 1 song.

I have been a Journey fan for like 27 years now. When I missed the Raised on Radio tour, I was sure I'd get another chance to see them live. However, I did not think I would have to wait twelve years.

Steve Augeri made it possible for me to spend some more time with the band I had followed for so long. I got to see this incarnation of the band 10 times since 1998. I rang in New Year's '01 with their show in Phoenix with REO. I saw them later in the year in Phoenix, and then made the trip to San Diego for third row seats. I thought that was the best show ever, but was so blown away by the ultimate Journey tour last year that I had to go see it twice. And, I can't forget the show at the casino in Camp Verde, where the vibe felt like they were playing at a backyard barbecue.

I thank Neal, Ross and Jon for continuing the Journey, and thank Deen for being not only a great drummer, but also for being the best secret weapon in rock 'n roll. Mostly, I thank Steve for always being a fan of the fans. By respecting the legacy of this great band, he has made it possible to move on. Whatever happens from here, my memories of these shows - and THIS version of the band - are irreplaceable.

I hope Augeri is back soon, too, Eric. But I have a feeling he won't be. I hope I'm wrong, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very interested in hearing Soto sing with Journey.

I really, REALLY hope Augeri's back soon. I fear the worst though too, that this change is permanent.

I like JSS and his work, one of his Takara albums is one of my favorites. But I don't think his voice fits Journey. At the very least I think they'll have to tune down which always sucks (and in which case just get it over with and call Perry).

They never should've signed up for this tour.

Get well soon Steve.
