they go ahead with Mr. Soto - and NOW they get "backing" or whatever?

Meaning backing from a record label, or the radio I'm sure.

That would be bizarre and it will never happen. They are considered nostalgia/dinosaurs as most bands from their era are.

Only American Idols. Boy Bands or rap stars really have hits these days for the most part.
