Why give Journey a 2nd chance ??

Postby McNeil » Sun Jul 09, 2006 3:40 am

Ok...

its been established that Jrny have conned the fans..... all of them are implicated by association

..so please give valid reasons why you wld still want to support the band.... after all..it appears they had no problem in shafting you all ... not even the decency to comment on their own web site... a place that they hardly ever go..it seems

Why do they deserve your hard earned cash right now??

As we know..they only "changed up" to live when they were "bubbled"

Hard to justify why anyone wld be bothered with them.. but be my guest..and give it a go

Actually, it is a damned good question.

I am not sure if I personally will.

"To Forgive is to Forget", Steve Perry once sang this.

But I am tilting to the Corrs saying, "Forgiven, but Not Forgotten."

Good question.

Ok, I'll go first. I have been a fan of this band and its musicians work for many, many years. I have enjoyed every CD, album, tape, etc. that this band has ever put out. And most importantly, whether there were tapes used or not, I have greatly enjoyed every Journey concert I have been to. So while you feel cheated and complain about this and that. I just sit back and enjoy the music. That is why I will still follow this band. I will be a fan till I hear something I don't like musically from the band, and at that point it will be my choice if I decide not to continue my support.

In spite of it being because DEAN ferreted out the truth, Journey DID make a change.

I don't necessarily like a band because everyone in it are great guys. With my morals and standards, that would leave pretty much ALL secular music out.

I like music. If I like the music, I support the band. Yes, Journey was caught red handed. Yes, they still cover it up and make up lies as to why this all happened. However, Augeri the girly man is out, and Soto the MAN is in.

This is why I will give them a second chance. We finally have a melodic ROCK GROUP again. Not some sissified, overweight housewife supporting, spineless, butterfly singing band.

But that's just me.

Been a fan for over 20 years. Loved Perry, love Augeri, and will love JSS. This is a band that has proven for over 30 years they can take a lickin and keep on tickin. Will support them until the end, although I think we may be witnessing a new beginning.

This is also my answer. :)

I don't go to Journey concerts specifically to hear different vocals. Going to a show is purely about entertainment for me, and I get entertained every time, so no complaints here.

I don't know if I'll give them another shot or not. I've been a fan since Perry joined the band. I was a bit skeptical when Augeri came in but he won me over in 98 when I seen them in Louisville live. Augeri could cover the old material well. I tend to focus on the vocals in Journey so singer changes are a big deal to me. I don't think JSS will be able to cover the songs to well enough but I hope I'm wrong. He's a good guy, an excellent talent and a good performer. I just don't think JSS will cover the old stuff well. I'll just have to wait and see. Maybe the boots from last night will convince me otherwise.

It is about the music, wehter on cd, sung live, or acting like it is sung live (or half, a 1/4, or whatever), it all comes down to the music. They are human and not perfect. Deano and the rest of us don't lnow the whole story or the whole truth, so what! It is the music. NOw can Augeri if he comes back keep the music going, or JSS or whoever if Augeri doesn't come back-ERIC

Why not is the bigger question if you ask me? If you can accept Augeri, why not JSS? If you couldn't get past Augeri it's unlikely you'll accept Journey without anyone but Perry anyway.

I have heard both sing. Remember Me Augeri's first song, blew me away, and I knew we were in good hands. But until I heard that I had my doubts like I have with JSS. I have heard JSS sing on the Soul Sirkus cd, and Live, so I have even bigger doubts. The man can sing, but can he sing Journey and it BE Journey? I'll find out next Sunday. Then the next thing how did the tour go over all? BUT if he is here for the next studio cd, the big question for me is it Journey or Soul Sirkus?-ERIC

2ND CHANCE???

It's been about 8 for me.

2nd chance was when they brought Perry in.

3rd chance was when Gregg Rolie left.

4th chance was when they fired Ross and Steve Smith during ROR.

5th chance was when they put out Trial By Fire and didn't tour.

6th chance was when Perry left.

7th chance was when they brought in Augeri.

And now this.

Bottom line is the music. That's what keeps me coming back.

Dude, while Neal can play guitar like few others, he is far from a stand up guy. Look at what he just pulled? And he is getting off the hook.

Trust me, if I wanted to persue this, I would have no problem keeping it in the news. Neal asked me to stop, and now with Soto, I am stopping and giving them a new lease on life.

And no, it's not about me, so stop typing right now. It's about a once great band, who went to shit, and now is back on the upswing. Time will tell.

Because it has been, what, 4 DAYS? Perryheads haven't gotten over SP for 8 years! How do expect Augeriheads to be happy about this in less than a week?

Andrew.. I dont get it?? or you?? (the tumbleweed comment was Brit humour..... take it or leave it.. it doesnt merit your comment!) as someone who supports this site by being a member of Mr X ..Im peeved that you could even say that

My question was valid... even Deano thought it was.... if you read my whole post properly... I didnt give my views on it.. I asked for other peoples..isnt this about getting people talking... this thread had taken a fair hit... to say Im outstaying my welcome is harsh man....
I personally think Journey are very very lucky to have such fans... who get dumped on from a great height... and still will support this band.. I am one of them!!! buy the DVD's CD's and see the gigs... Im like a shareholder.... Ive invested in these guys...and will continue to do so....all I ask is for them to give a little something back... like "honesty"

The way I see it... what they have done is akin to a dodgy business that is going under... they havnt delivered for the customer... so what do they do... change it round... draft in new people..and trade under a new name.... hey presto... they can start all over again..without fear of retribution

Ok.. we r giving them a chance they prob dont deserve..... we are "watching this space"
